What about when used in describing something that needs to be assembled, would you say holes are predrilled for hardware or say holes are for hardware?
But what really gets to me are mispronunciations, as in that's his forte, most people will pronounce as for-tay, even though the correct pronunciation is as fort, the word is derived from the English forte of the sword, its strongest point, the fact that it has been mispronounced so frequently that either pronunciation is now considered correct doesn't help.
