Close to Phoenix is the White Tank Mountains State Park. Just west a few miles. Has some great views over the Phoenix valley. Great for sunrises or moon rises. Has some wonderful desert shots also.
I like the worker bee analogy. Hope you don't get stung.
I use live view and enlarge the view to maximum, then manual focus, then return the view to normal. As long as I don,t move the camera, I'm set. This takes longer but if it's a critical shot, it's an alternative.
You asked which is the better camera. They are all good. If you have any previously purchased lenses from other cameras you have owned, then I would stay with that brand. I chose Nikon because my brothers have Canon and we like to argue about whose is best. There are no winners.
I went to Alaska this year for 2 weeks and wanted something lite and lots of storage so I purchased a small laptop with 500 Gig storage. It's just slightly larger than a tablet and it fit in my rolling camera bag. worked great for me. PRICE WAS LESS THAN A TABLET.
Nikon Bill, I see no rust or oxidation. As far as type of metal, I don't know. It's heavy though. All black. It's an Arca Swiss Monoball if that tells you anything. An older one.
Okay, thanks Wall-E. I'll follow your advice on the wd40. thanks again.
Thanks also to Esther.
can't see any scratches but it seems to drag a little. The panning mechanism also drags. Do you know if the bottom actually comes off by removing the three screws there?
By wiping it down, do you mean with a dry cloth or do you suggest a little WD40?
Thanks for the suggestions. By the way, I was told it was once owned by John and Barbara Gerlach so I'm sure it had plenty of use.
I purchased a used Arca Swiss Monoball thru ebay. It's in pretty good shape and I got it for a very reasonable price but it feels like it could use a good cleaning in the ball and the panning movements. Seems like a good heavy , well built ball head (in fact it could be used as a boat anchor) and the bottom has 3 screws in it but taking them out doesn't seem to release the plate for removal. Any body got any ideas how to clean those areas?
That's telling you that you are overexposed in the highlights (the really bright parts of the photo). You can turn it off but it's really helpful if you are not using the histogram.
How long was your lens. I'd like to try this.
Pure artistry. Would make an excellent Christmas card.
A very insightful thought. I agree.
It's a tough life but someone has to do it, huh?
I got one for my birthday in September and am very happy with it. Just plug it in and start using it. So easy. I have Windows 7 Professional.
