Hi just wondering I will be photographing a wedding ceremony and reception. What lens is best for this photo op. Should I buy a 24mm-105mm or 70mm-200mm lens.

Hi my name is Louie and I'm troubled. I really want to know how to set my camera lens that I have so when I use them to take my photos. Either I'm in a indoor/outdoor party I can't get my photos to look professionally done. My colors or apertures settings are not right I don't know. Even at a indoor basketball game I have the same problem and when I'M outside taking pictures some are to bright or do dark or not blurry enough for the background.
I need help please because it really bothers me that I cannot produce professional photos:maybe I'M not using the rights lens.

I have the Canon Rebel XS. I own the kit lens that came with the camera (18-55 mm lens),50 mm, 10-20 mm wide angle sigma len
Also 270 ex speed lite flash

Very professional I really like it and how the background looks.
Now thats how I want my pictures. To look like but I don't know how todo that can you help me do the same please. :(
