What caught my attention was the phrase "often color overpowers content". Color has become the de facto type of photography, yet for many images, the color component adds very little. Yet most photographers never even consider rendering an image in monochrome. The black and white masters of the past would marvel at the amount of control of the tonal characteristics that are now possible in the digital era.

What do you think. I've posted this photo before, but it is one that I feel shows so much more texture in b&w. Feel free to post a b&W photo.

Rhodge, Great image of truck etc. Another way to eliminate the sign in PSE10 is using the content-aware fill button. 1. click the spot healing brush tool 2. Size the brush to go over sign nicely (100 or so) . check off the content aware-fill mode on pse 10 taskbar . GO over the sign with the brush and release the mouse. And after a few seconds voila no sign, but road. Try it you may like it better than the clone tool.

Thank you for the tip, I will try that.

Good morning All
I am looking for help, I'm trying to find the best way to remove the white sign in front of the truck. I have tried numerous times using the clone and spot heal tools in elements 9. I have very limited skills with photoshot but i do try. If someone could help explain the best way to do it I would be greatfull.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!
Raymond hodge

The second photo i took and HDR it yesterday after the huricane left Connecticut, I really needed to get out of the house.

It would be the second one.

I used HDR on both, the first one was taken at 11 am and the second one was taken at 9 pm, so I didn't use HDR to make it look like a night shot.

These are photos of a beautiful resturant in Middletown Ct. I Drive by it often and keep saying id like to photograph it, Now i finally have, I was happy with the day shot so i went back at night during a rain storm, The night shot was just after the rain stopped. Great timing! I used HDR and then photoshopped to get what i was looking for. Any comment welcome

Great shots, both of them, but I really like #1. Keep up the good work.

I too like both pictures but the night scene is my favorite because you can see inside and that makes it more interesting for me. Did you show them to the restaurant's owner? I would bet they'd love them.

I do plan on showing them well will be there tomorrow for lunch. Thank you for looking. The night one is my favorite too.
