I appreciate all the ideas and suggestions. Sorry I took so long to respond. I work full time plus photography and I get pretty overwhelmed sometimes. At any rate.. I do thank you for your time. I've found that processing a single photo and painting that photo over the bad spots using a layer mask does the trick. For those who mentioned overused HDR.. I'm not a fan of some HDR and that is my own preference. For those who like that look.. well that is what makes the world go round. We're all different. You might notice though.. my HDR is a little different than that. Often times people don't even realize it's HDR until I tell them. Sometimes I don't tell at all. :)

Thanks again!

Also I should add that in saving the file as a tiff.. I don't save the picture as a jpeg until I am finished with it. I sometimes will save an image that I'm working on to take a break and look at it with fresh eyes. When I do so.. I always save it as a tiff file. Jpeg is for the final product.

Hi speters. I'm not surprised that I used the wrong terminology but you can see the problem in the leaves. There's chromatic aberration some of which I have removed but there are pixels that should be dark which are light and some that are light which should be dark which interrupts the edges between the leaves. I use HDR Pro in Photoshop cs6. I check the remove ghosting box and in this case I used the 32 bit mode. I saved it as a tiff file, made adjustments in camera raw, and then more processing in photoshop.

I've searched for this topic in the archives but I'm unable to find it. I have been trying to teach myself how to do HDR. One problem that seems to arise frequently is pixilation in the tree branches of a landscape photo. I do click on the ghosting box to avoid that and I go through each image to choose the best one so this doesn't happen. I was in a hurry this time trying to get a picture done for someone and I thought this picture was free of pixilation but I discovered after I was done processing it that it did indeed have pixilation in the leaves. Does anyone know a good way to avoid this problem in the first place AND is there a way to fix this in photoshop after it has happened other than pixel by pixel or cloning? The cutout to show the pixilation is blurry from being a copy and paste but you should get the idea. Thank you for any help or suggestions. In the mean time I will continue to look for tutorials.

Thank you for your responses and I do watermark the photos I post online as well as reduce size (1024x678) and resolution (72ppi) but my concern is.. will this be too much reduction for an 8x10? This order is to be a gift for the woman's son who happens to be the mayor of our city. This digital frame displaying all these images will be on display in the mayor's office so, naturally, I want them to look their best. Not sure I want a watermark in the middle of it under the circumstances.

Just bumping it to the top so it doesn't get lost. Hopefully, I will get some replies eventually.

I have had an unusual request (and reluctantly agreed to it) and I would like your input. A woman has ordered nearly 90 of my photos to be put on a memory card to be used in an 8x10 digital frame. She has agreed to sign any forms necessary to assure me that she will not try to print or use any of the files. It is just for the frame. I want to take some additional precautions, however, to try to make it less likely that she could succeed or someone else could succeed should someone try to have them printed.

I would like to know what file size and resolution you would recommend for a quality digital frame image at 8x10 but would not make a quality image for anything larger.

Any ideas? Thank you for your input. I appreciate it.

I had the chance to look at some of the suggestions more closely and many of them are just too far. Rocky Mtn National Park is wonderful I'm sure but I just can't travel that far from CoS. I flew here so I don't have my car. I'm able to borrow my sister-in-law's car but I don't want to take advantage and disappear for an entire day and leave her without transportation. Maybe some day I'll have the chance to see it. :) Thanks again!

Thanks to everyone for the ideas! I didn't get a chance to check the computer until now. I still have a couple days left so I will look into some of your suggestions. I really appreciate it. :)

Today we went to Spinney Mountain State Park. We saw a small group of antelope and then two small herds of elk on the way back. One herd was between Lake George and Florrisant and the other was between Florrisant and Divide. The view was just beautiful to and from the park and of course the park as well. We stopped at a visitors center somewhere between Lake George and Woodland Park. I can't recall the name of the pass right now but the view was breathtaking. I can't wait to get the pictures on my computer!

Have a great day and thank you again!

I am in Colorado Springs for a few days on vacation and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where to go. I don't want to travel too far and I already know about the basic places.. Pike's Peak, Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, Helen Hunt Falls. I've been to Lake George in the past, to the summit of Pike's Peak, and Canon City where I took the train ride along the river. I'm more interested in wildlife photos (which I realize is hit and miss) and full nature shots without elements of the city in the foreground. Any suggestions?

Thank you for all the opinions! I really appreciate your input. I have this image posted in a couple places online. So far the majority seem to like it the way it is.
I messed with it a little in Photoshop using the clone tool before I had ever posted it trying to remove the lens flare but I didn't like how it was coming out so I left it for the time being.
What I'll probably do is try again and see what happens then take your advice and see which I like best.
Thank you again for all your help! :)

Thank you, MWAC. I couldn't remember what it was called (Lens Flare) and so I was having trouble looking it up. Ball of light was getting me nowhere. LOL!

Now I just need to figure out the best way to remove it without removing the sun beam.

I appreciate your help! Thank you!
