Photographing stained glass windows

I shot a church with Tiffany windows in Elizabeth IL. I had all the lights turned off in the church, used my tripod, and exposed for the window light. They turned out beautiful !

Reverse Engineering a Photo

Hello Nightski,

Well, this photo was a 6 second shot. You must have been using a tripod, right ? I bet you did not turn off your VR ( vibration reduction on Nikon ), and after you focused your subject the camera readjusted ..... am I right ? If yes, and it only took you 3 days to figure out, I am impressed .... took me a lot longer !

Thank you ... I deleted all the photos, and understand everything you all have suggested. ..just checking to see if my SD card was not up to par with the newer(to me)camera. I think I'll give the Sandisk 32GB Extreme Pro a shot, lower my ISO and open up a bit.

SD Card for D610

Hello Hogs,

Just wondering what SD card those off you with the Nikon D610 use. I am using a Sandisk Ultra Plus 16 GB. I notice a lot of grain when I shoot with my ISO at 1600. Is there any correlation ? Should I be using a higher performance card ??

If you were going to Ireland for 10 days, which one lens would you take?

Just got back from Ireland ! Wow, what a beautiful country, and the people .... I was in County Cork and County Kerry. I used my 24-85mm the most. In the cities and the hills. Bring rain gear, although I never got wet!

I am sorry to be so ignorant, but will this automatically hook up to my LR4 ? How will I get my images to LR4? or should I stick with what I know and buy LR 5.5.
I'm not crying........ yet.

Glad to have UHH on my side. My first shoot with my new D610. I came home, inserted my Transcend 45mb's 300x 64GB in to my computer to have Lightroom 4 download them so I could see my photos.....and I got this response:

My lightroom screen said: from:\(nikonD610) ... copy as DNG

below where the tile should be it says: DSC_0432.nef

I just set my camera up for RAW only, I used to have it Raw + jpeg fine..

What happened ? Thank you all for you help..again !
