Thank you everyone for helping me get the wedding video to my computer from my phone. You've been a great help. I love Uglyhedghog. At first I thought the audio didn't transfer with the photo to my computer but discovered I had my desktop speaker turned off. Now all I need to do is put it on a thumb drive and give it to the kids. Thank you so much.

You can make it downloadable through Dropbox or many other services. You can make a Youtube channel (free and easy), post it there and send them a link. You can put it on a USB drive. The small ones are practically free. On a Mac (and maybe Windows) you can email it. A video file will be too big to email normally but on my Mac it will ask if I want to use Mail Drop, which is for big files. Say 'yes' and it goes like a normal email.
There are lots of ways to do this without DVD's. DVDs get lost and scratched and are old technology. This is a good excuse to up your knowledge about all this. If the people you are sending it too don't have a DVD player they will never see it and can't put it on their own phone to share around. Not much point in that.

Well, I've changed my direction on creating a DVD. I will research this and see what I can do. Thank you.

Lots of ideas here for moving the vid off the phone, but I wouldn’t go to a DVD. I don’t think most people have DVD players any more. Three computers and a smart TV in our house. Not a DVD player to be found
,,,Cam.

So how would I present the video to someone as a gift?

With Android, you use your USB cable to connect to your computer, then you open settings by swiping down from the top and clicking on the gear icon in the lower right hand corner. Alternately you can click on the gear app icon on the main screen. The next screen will be your settings - navigate to "Connected Devices" and you will see USB - by default the status will be "Charging this Device" and USB controlled by "This device" - clicking on it will give you a list of choices as to how you will use this device - and you should select File Transfer/Android Auto.

Now you can navigate on your computer to your phone. Open the phone icon on your computer, then Internal Shared Storage, then DCIM, then Camera - your image files and mp4 files will be there. At this point you can preview them and move the ones you want to your computer using drag and drop.

Thank you. Very helpful. The sound track didn't come through with it. Any suggestions.

I think the key is to find where the video is stored on your phone. It is simple to do this. First, navigate to the video on your phone (do not play the video). Then tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner of your screen. Next select Details in the white box. In the next display you will see the video name and directly below that will be the storage location on your phone. For example: /internal storage/DCIM/mp4 or you might see /SD Card/DCIM/mp4. The difference being Internal Storage indicates the file is stored on your phone, while SD Card indicates the file is stored on your memory card. Once you have determined where the file is located, you can plug your phone into your computer and navigate to the file in the same manner you would use to navigate to a thumb drive. Once you have navigated to the file, it is just a matter of copy and paste. I hope this helps; it really is quite easy once you are used to it.

This made sense. My computer doesn't recognize my phone when I have it connected to my phone so I can look for pictures.

See if your phone charging cable has a standard usb plug on the other end of it. If so, plug it into computer's usb port and use a file utility program to search the phone's file structure. Then just copy it.

Didn't work for me. Thx

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can move a wedding video from my phone to computer and then to a DVD. If I can get it to my computer photo editing software I should be able to download it to a DVD.

Adobe continues to have marketers that neither understand their products nor their market. The example here is the buzz word “cloud”. The majority of the applications in the Creative Cloud (which I just mistyped Creative Clod) are not cloud applications including LR Classic and PS. The applications entirely reside on your computer and are not dependent on a continuous internet connection to the “cloud”. I am not certain if LR CC and PS CC are cloud apps but I suspect they are. Anyway I cannot imagine seriously edit photos on a small or smaller touch screen.

BTW I personally think the subscription plan is a good deal at $10/month for both LR and PS for both real computers and mobile versions considering the support and instant access to a rapid stream of improvements.

I interpreted the $10 fee for light room only. And Photo shop an additional $10

Can you not use your older versions of Photoshop? I have PS CS4 and it still runs on my Mac under High Sierra.

I can use it on my old old laptop yet. And I will for awhile until I get a new one on my new computer. In my plan to purchase a new PS, I discarded the old one. Bad move on my part.

Hello everyone, My name is Beth, I have been away from photography for a couple of years and currently have chosen to get back into it. I have decided not to use photoshop via cloud as my photo editing software. I am entertaining Affinity Photo instead. I would appreciate anyone's feedback or recommendation on an alternate photo editing program.

I want to thank everyone for your response here and all your input. I have a lot of homework to do now in my search for the photo editing program that I like. I must say I'm very pleased to be back on UHH. My plan moving forward is to download trials of each software. I'm currently trying Affinity. Too bad I didn't save my Photoshop 7 software to use on my new computer. I didn't know we could no longer purchase Photoshop software instead of renting it from Cloud. I just recently discarded it. Oh well, life goes on. Thanks everyone!!!!!!!
