Being an old school videographer, I remember when Digital Video entered the market with cameras using a tape recording system (VTR). The question I want to ask is concerning frame megapixels. For the sake of argument, let's say my Sony digital recording video camera (Circa. 1999) was capable of delivering 4 mpx to the internal tape system. That being said, the later compact digital video cameras such as Canon, use the memory cards. The question. Is there a mpx trade off on each frame captured by digital video tape as opposed to the same saved frame mpx that a memory card can retain? I'm looking for frame to frame mpx quality being available for post production editing.
