Aparently there is a lack of talent in Tucson on a Thursday.
So here are some night shots I actually did fairly well on

Aperture priority , manual focus, f/18, ISO 100, 30 sec exposure ... WB tungsten

Great work...now I need to stay up late enough to take some shots after dark. Today was "work with a tripod" day. Need to keep the tripod in my car with me, hope to improve on focus with the telephoto.

The NO photos remind me of a bunch of shots of "The Doors" I took when in St. Augustine FL...need to figure out where they are. Love New Orleans.

Hello....I gave my self another challenge to day and that was see how long I can stay off the computer and do some chores. I didnt go out but I did take some pics. I think Pineapple is my favortie.

Oh before I get started Obie....I love Cat Kingdom.....

Thanks...I am constantly reminded that dogs have masters and cats have servants. Tabitha has created a coexistance with the raccoons and their children. She taught them to beg at the back door. She comes to the back door to get me to come out and just pet her....see I'm the servant.

I am in awe of today's photos, great job everyone. Makes me want to know more and do more. Love the grandkids and taking them fishing. Catching the Coot running on water is wonderful.

Here's my cat Tabitha. I am working with my tripod and this bright FL light.

What a pretty kitty

Thanks. She adopted us about 4 yrs ago.

Yesterday's excursion with my granddaughter Adriana took us on a couple mile walk along the Hillsborough River. It's a state park near the headwaters of the biggest river and drinking water source for Tampa. I found holes of interest.

I love that third shot with the hole going straight through the tree ...
The last shot the only thing it needs is the contrast adjusted. I took it into photoshop and went to the image menu/adjustments/levels and moved the slider for the darks (left side) over to around 33.
And it didn't need it but I also took it into perfect effects and added a polarizing filter... just to tone down the sky a tiny bit .... awesome shot Obie. .... pg 1

HI Obie here is my fix using non-destructive burn and dodge layer and a small curves contrast increase in PS5

I like your weed and your young raccoon.

Thank you so much, that's really kind of you, I want to mention that I like your photo's also. :D There very interesting

I appreciate that Rachel. Next time I'm near a field of weeds I will attempt to duplicate. Amazingly, back when I had a manual Olympus SLR in the late '70's I had a similar photo and actually sold several. Then I went through a period where I forgot how to make a photograph and everything was just snapshots. Learning digital over the last 6 yrs...enjoying this daily challenge. I'm motivated to get better.

These are tame in a way. Not as tame as your Rory. My wife has drawn the line on making one a pet. She's not really happy that I've been this kind to those who visit us. From 2 a couple yrs ago to 14 now. After next baby season that could be 30 out there. I enjoy watching them. They make toys out of shells and marbles.

Hmmmm you must be a very kind person and I hope those little critters continue to behave well. My mother in law took in a baby once and named her agathacoon...but that was before I met my hubby so I never got to meet agatha...but I heard she got along just fine with the family boxer. Whoda thought....

One older 'coon, we call Spot, will actually sit next to the cat to share the cat's food. The cat was small when the first 'coons decided to invade her terretory. Now there are about 14 'coons who have all been here as babies over the last several years. They sit on our windowsills and will get on a barstool outside to get our attention when I come in the house.

Here are a couple of raccoon shots from my back door and porch.

WHAT that is too funny...are you feeding those critters?

Welllll....the raccoons have learned to co-exist with the feral cats we feed. I have noticed that these critters will "clean up" whatever the cat brings up to the back door. Haven't noticed any snakes in a long time. These "little bears" must live real close to our back door as they arrive quickly after the cat is fed. They seem to forage among the palmettos throughout the day and evening for whatever moves.

Heyyyyy....I'm considered a regular now...I've graduated!

For those who enjoyed the raccoon pics yesterday, my wife and I have decided we could capture and ship them to your location. They are trained to make a mess and look cute.
