Thank you So much for your info!! My 50mm lens does not have AF on it. I hope I dan find my CD that came with my D5100 I have been paking things away for more room. I will go out again and try what you said on the bird house and try this again. But you think the camera is good just takes time to learn it!!

Again I have the Nikon D5100 camera. Could it be the size of the photos when taken are to big. I also have a Nikon D50 camera. I took two photos using the same lens one one with the D5100 and one with the D50 camera. I am uploading one from each camera. I used 50mm lens with both cameras. Is there something wrong with my D5100? Thank you for your help!!

Yes it is!! I am just trying to find out if the shot is in focus and the overall on the photo. I am trying to find out what I am doing wrong when taking shots with it.

I also have the Nikon D5100 camera. I HAD TO BUY THE BOOK ON IT ALSO. Can anyone tell me if they are having problems with the camera. I know my photos are not sharp and are out of focus. I have used a 50mm lens and a 18 55 on the camera.

I am having a lot of problems with my shots being out of focus. I can't understand it at all. Mine are more with using a 50mm lens, a 18 55 lens.
