Thanks for the advice.
I guess it's off to the camera store I go!
And never back to that sushi joint. Too bad....was pretty good!

We went to a sushi bar for my nephew's birthday. Had a large group and a private room. All was great until the Busboy set a bus-tub near my camera and splattered SOMETHING on my camera. I went nuts, but got it wiped off pretty well with a damp cloth.
Now, however, my off/on button sticks. It works, but it's hard to turn on.
Do I need to take it in to be cleaned, or does someone have any suggestions on a safe way to clean the button.
Thanks in advance, and to show my appreciation, here is a picture of some of the food we enjoyed before he threw a monkey wrench into my night.
Oh....one last comment. Everyone was surprised at how upset I was....they said "it's only a camera"! They don't get it, I guess.

Great colors, Graham!
Although I only have one tat, I appreciate that so many people are getting them. My son is a Tat artist and makes a very good living doing it.
He inherited his mother's artistic ability.
Now, we don't hear "dad, can I borrow 20 bucks" LOL!

Thank you, everyone, for looking and for your comments.
Thankfully, we got good news today that the weather helped a little yesterday and the fire is now about 40% contained.

Unfortunately when there is destruction and devastation there are also good photo ops.
We can't get too close to the fire outside Las Vegas, but the smoke covering the city has produced some amazing sunsets.
We pray that they get it under control soon and that the residents that were evacuated can return to their (undamaged!) homes soon.

One other note: I shot a bunch of pics from near my kids house Friday night and all were somewhat soft focus....I realized that I forgot to turn off VR while shooting w/ the tripod! Lesson learned. Until next time!

Neat! I recently bought a set of Vivitar filters. The 2 times I've tried the 10x on outdoor flowers, the wind was blowing, so results were so-so.

I only have 1x, 2x and 4x. I saw an 8x on ebay that I might get. They aren't as good as a Macro lens....but, they're in my budget!
Post some pics of the flowers using 10x!

I walk my granddaughter to school every morning and she LOVES to pick flowers. She always asks me to keep them for her.
This morning, she gave me a really small flower.
I thought I'd take a picture.
I used a 4X filter, which really limits the light so I had to up the ISO to 500. I was feeling lazy and didn't set up the tripod, so it was hand held at 1/40.
To give an idea of how little it is, I took another pic next to a golf ball.
I know it's a little soft focus. I'm sure a tripod would help.

Tell her a cat joke, that should do it LOL.

Birdguide....this is what she thinks of cats. Our cat is her pillow!

Don't move. You're my pillow!

Thank you, everyone for your nice comments about Clash.
One day, I'll get the picture of her that I've been trying to get for so long....she "Smiles" If you don't know her, you'd think she's showing her teeth and snarling. It's hilarious! I'd have to keep my camera on her at all times to get that shot, though!

Amen to the bed hogs of this world. After all, they are there to protect us even as they sleep ever so well while we fight for the "kivers" - she is indeed a beauty.

We've gotten used to being the guests in "their" bed.
We have two Pits and a cat who let us sleep with them!

Me too, Justjerry. I have so many pictures of them. The Avatar is a picture of my Male, Tazz. He's starting to get a tiny bit grey, too. He's a couple years younger than Clash.
Thanks for looking.

Our female Pit, Clash,is greying and aging gracefully.
Her eyes say it all....."What can I do to make you happy?"

I got a cheap softbox to attach to my flash. So far, I'm happy with the way it diffuses the flash so that I don't get the eye reflection.
Sorry about the busy background......she was finally laying still long enough for me to get a shot of her relaxing.

Just chillin

We celebrated my dad's 80th birthday last night by surprising him and mom. Picking them up in a limo and going for an incredible dinner with LOTS of these!
Dry Martini's....splash of scotch and Blue Cheese stuffed olives. I hope to have Many, Many more with him!!
