try: just about anywhere in the mountains. here are a few suggestions. all of 'em are near denver.
the flat irons rock formation in boulder.
redrocks.
one of the coolest outdoor music venues in the country. it's built right into the stunning red rocks that populate the area. there are trails among these red rocks near the venue.
blackhawk/central city.
best know for the casinos. area has a rich mining history. there is a cool grave yard dating back to the 1800's just above central city.
mammoth creek reservoir.
outside of rollinsville. very near blackhawk/central city. this area is right up against the continental divide. hike to the reservoir. the reservoir is gone. now it's a gorgeous wetland with great views of the divide. incidentally, this is the location of the "east portal". the portal is a train tunnel that runs through the divide.
greys peak.
hiking "fourteeners" is a big deal out here. this area has 3 or 4 of the easier 14,000ft peaks to hike.
if it's still open....trailridge road.
parmalee gulch(might be mt. falcon park) in indian hills
easy hiking. the ruins of a castle built for a president are up there.
be mindful of the weather.
i don't know where you are from but "flatlanders" sometimes have a hard time with the altitude. take it slow until you know how you'll react. lot's of water. watch the alcohol. eat well.
hey silver.... #1 was shot hand held......just razzin' ya. actually, i don't recall if i had. i'm sure i did though. it was, like most, a candid shot.
thanks so much everybody.
these and a few others will be framed for grandma, aunts and uncles, friends.....heck, i may just give one to the ex.
pat, i've decided to go 'head and remove the speck. i think i'll replace it with a mole. now where did i put that mole? (i kid you)
today we're shooting a few to put in our homemade xmas ornaments.
u best believe it. i'm going out tomorrow to print and frame that one.
thanks jay pat.
the band aide......i had jumped up to make a mad dash outside to see an f-16 screamin' by. my 9 and 5 year old followed excitedly. one ran to the front door but realized i had gone to the back. as he turned to correct himself he plowed right in to his sis. he knocked two teeth loose, nearly biting through his lip. for once she came out on top receiving a small but deep laceration. i pushed his teeth back in place, 'butterflied' her wound and headed off to the dentist.
funny thing is i had done the same thing with my sister when i was young. it was a spooky late night sound that sent us careening into one another though.
good times. good times.
here ya go
better? not to sure myself.
''...hope this is helpful''.....it's always helpful to get a pat on the top of my egos head. thank you, it means a lot to me.
thank you.
i love taken the candid shots. that said......
the speck is yogurt. on one hand.....i will be making it go away. on the other....i like the perfection of imperfection.
the boy and girl......it's hard getting that tight when my knuckle heads don't sit still. i'll have to check and see if the original has that chinny chin chin.
after re-viewing the other two.....i agree....no comment.
go 'head.....lemme have it.
