I appreciate everyone's comments and Vctor S hit the nail on the head. I have posted this item for sell a few times and I never get comments or concerns about the item for sale. Yes I want to sell this lens. Yes I have considered the Tamron lens and the Sigma and the Canon. But there is another section that these comments can be made. But until I sell my current lens I cant get any of those lenses. So please only comment if your interested in the purchase of this lens. We can discuss the other lens in another section on UHH. thanks

Yep I have thought the same thing but the 70D has several features that I like and the rumored 7D mark 2 doesn't have ( rotating LCD, wifi, touchscreen to name a few) 10 FPS really needs me thinking though. I will have to wait to and see the exact specs before I decide.

I have a Canon 70-200mm F4L IS USM EF mount camera lens for sale. Lens is in great shape and is barely used. I have the original lens hood and the caps that come with it. I put a UV filter on the lens as soon as I bought it brand new. UV lens has been on it since it was new. Filter threads are not damaged. It has minimal scratches on the body from being taken in and out of my bag. Takes excellent photos. Only reason I am selling it is because I need a F 2.8 ver for sports photography in low light conditions. Portraits are amazing with this lens. $950

Sorry. I need something F2.8

I have access to the Canon 70-200 f 2.8L ver II and this lens is a beast. The image quality is great and the IS is very responsive. Both of these L series lenses I'm trying to sell have amazing optics and I have no complaints. The 100mm for me is very quick at focusing but for sports the quality is just not there but that's why it is a Macro lens. Portraits are very sharp as well. I have trouble after half time with the 70-200 at f4 and I need the extra stop that the 2.8 provides.

I am definitely now looking at the Tamron now. I guess you can say I am a Canon boy simply because I have never bought or used anything but Canon and was always skeptical with 3rd party lenses. But now that Tamron has increased their build and image quality with their newer lenses I am going to strongly consider it. (esp with a 1K price difference)

I think I will have to rent this lens and use it for a game to actually see if it is truly what people say that this lens really is.

Does anyone have this lens that uses it for sports and would if so could you upload some sample photos? esp low light ..thanks

I have barely used it. I bought it for Macros and wedding rings shots for weddings but I am doing more sports than weddings and it just stays in a camera bag. The least I could take for it is $850 plus shipping.

All of these were taken with my canon T3i with the Canon 100mm(EF100mm f2.8L Macro IS USM lens and I took the pics as I was holding a flashlight on it. Here are the settings I used.

1st Pic - 1/50 f2.8 ISO 1600
2nd and 3rd Pic- 1/50 f4.0 ISO 400
