My dog Maggie running through some arrowleaf balsamroot. She's not the prettiest of dogs, but she is one of the most personable creatures that I've ever met.

Great shot and I think she is very pretty too!!!

GG, both are nice shots... I am thinking about what to put in those upside down glasses...hmmm

RR, looks like a very peaceful place to drink a glass of beer

Song, rose point glass is beautiful. You have been very creative in your thinking

Thanks Sher :)

We have come to a new challenge, and as fate would have it I get to start you off on a new adventure. Glass can be a photographer's nightmare and yet when done well give a sense of real accomplishment. This is going to be another lesson in seeing, or as Sherlock Holmes would say “in the power of observation”. Keep in mind that glass reflects everything, however in this challenge it should only reflect what enhances the picture. Look closely at the item and insure only the reflections that you see are the ones you intended to be there. There are several good videos on YouTube about this subject. Here is one link that shows you how to do it without expensive equipment and what to look for during setup. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlQwt7_ZXKg
As always have fun and keep in mind I will be watching. Here are a few to get you started.

Epilog...

It was a learning experience for me to follow the Nesting Robin Family... I saw things that I have never before seen and it was an eye opening experience. It brought me new insight to events that have been happening all around me, but before now, I had not had the time, the luck, or the opportunity to witness one of nature's many wonders develop before my eyes. Thanks for taking the time to look and comment on my series the "Nesting Robin Family". To date, there are 42 original separate postings on the "Nesting Robin Family". The robin series has ended now and I miss them.

Yes I miss them... I look out the window each day as I pass by and I hope to see a new family of Robins in the nest. Maybe as the young Robins mature they will recall their home nest and return to start their own family of young Robins. Maybe another Robin couple will see the well built nest and use it to bear and raise their young... maybe... just maybe…

Songofthelamb, I really liked your "from the sky" pattern, nice work. Also liked the moon and green leaves. Not a big fan of B&W though, but whats that "song", 3 out of 4 ain't bad:-)

We live with pattern, they seem to be all around. These patterns may be repetitious, or symmetrical, and even random, whatever the case may be they surround us . For this exercise let us see what unusual patterns you can bring to the challenge using your photographic skills. Here are a few to help get you started.

Great job Song. Is that Will Rogers? My mother alwasy claimed to be related to his pilot Wiley Post. But I could never find the connection.

Thanks Rufe. Yes that is Will Rogers World Airport. I was just there last weekend. Isn't that something to name an airport after a man who died in a plane crash? Yea, well if your mother claimed it, give it the benefit of the doubt. My mother told me the funniest stories about family that I wondered if she was just messing with me. Then as I checked out the ancestry research, many of the things she said came out true! Have you checked out the ancestry.com on him?
