I would worry about getting stone chips if that were my beast though.

Driftwood along the shores of the barrier islands of north Florida and Georgia is quite common. Entire driftwood trees are unheard of.

One time at camera club the judge we had on that evening said he never wanted to see another driftwood photo, and then someone had entered a pretty good driftwood photo on that night and the judge praised it and went on to say that he had to eat his words.
The same could be said for your example here, and a full tree too! Nicely composed. Well done.

Nice. Well done.

Have you ever tried backlighting?
When the sun is in the right place, or you can use off-camera flash, or any lighting really. And it works great with with mushrooms in nature as well.

This jewel is a 1931 Cadillac 370 Fleetwood Roadster.

In 1930, Cadillac launched its V-12 and V-16 engines, which caused the other premium brands to follow suit. A mini-war developed between them. The 1931 Fleetwood Roadster shown here had the V-12. Its 368 C.I. engine put out 135 HP. The Roadster was a very limited production model, only 85 of these cars were made.

The car here had just undergone an extensive restoration. During that process, a few factory options it had not had were added. They included the Wind Wings, the Pilot Ray lights, and the Low Boy Trunk.

Very nice.

First photo, everyone appears to have turned their back on it.

This rare beauty is a 1930 Duesenberg LeBaron Barrelside. It was constructed by LeBaron Carrossiers on a Duesenberg Model J chassis. On the Barrelside cars, the body rolls inward in a pronounced fashion, the read doors open at the " B "pillar, and the beltline has a distinctive parallelogram molding that gives this car an uncommon grace.

The inline, eight cylinder engine is a 420 C.I., dual overhead cam design with a Schebler dual-thorat up-draft carburetor. It make 265 H.P. and the car is driven through a 3-speed manual transmission.

Only 5 of this Barrelside model were produced. It is an extremely rare and valuable automobile.

P.S. Good to see it has 'Heavy Duty" tyres. (Or "tires" if you must. )
Yes, you even see that when you click on to look at the download view. Good sharp details, well done.

Very nice.

I always thought American actress Marlene Dietrich had a Duesenberg and that it was in Southward Car Museum. But I checked and no, her car in Southward Car Museum is a 1934 Cadillac V-16 Town Cabriolet.

Southward Car Museum is world-class and well worth a visit if you're in New Zealand anytime.
They have all sorts of rare and very interesting stuff. For example: 1950 Cadillac Sixty Special "gangster special" - belonged to American gangster Mickey Cohen, fitted with armoured body panels and bulletproof plate glass 1+1⁄2 inches (38 mm) thick.

Nice.

I find it hard to not get my camera out to shoot very similar during the Springtime. In my garden, however, it is Agapanthus that are my main victim. Most people seem to like the blue Agapanthus best, but I prefer the white Agapanthus for my photos because they make it easier to get a nice uncluttered composition.
Of course here in New Zealand we're six months ahead of you; we're heading into Autumn now, or as you might call the season, "Fall".

If a penis were inserted in that lovely vagina, I would say “tooo much for this forum” As my godmother said when I commented on the amount of open and beautiful nudity on network TV in Norway “In Norway nudity and sex are OK, violence and murder are not”. We have so many much more important hills to climb and battles to fight than the occasional showing of female genitalia in our forum. I, for one, say the image, although explicit, is fine and more of them is supported.

Why is Robert Mapplethorpe controversial?
Although many of his works — including exquisitely lighted images of flowers — are uncontroversial, a series of homoerotic and other sexually explicit photographs made him posthumously a political target and a central figure in a First Amendment clash over the legal meaning of art and obscenity.

What is Mapplethorpe best known for?
Robert Mapplethorpe is best known for his powerful black-and-white portraits and self-portraits. His photographs both challenge us and present us with images of classical beauty.

Why did Robert Mapplethorpe get into photography?
His initial interest in photography was, in part, an outgrowth of the collages he had been constructing with images from pornographic magazines.

How would Maplethorp's controversial subject matter work be treated here? He is very famous and a very accomplished photographer. I don't appreciate a good portion of the subject matter of his work at all. There are a bunch of landscapes and modern art I hate too... . . Doesn't mean I would ever consider preventing someone else from viewing or displaying them. And doesn't mean maplethorp doesn't know what he is doing... He is way closer to Ansel Adams than I will ever be as far as photographic craftsmanship. And some seem to love and appreciate the most controversial subject matter.

Freedom of speech means allowing speech you don't like or agree with. A concept that many nowadays fail to comprehend.

So let's conclude that this isn't the sort of image you'd take nor display... I appreciate your viewpoint on this. But thats all I care to hear from you on the subject. You had to jump through some hoops to view it, nobody forced you. You can avoid the OP's work altogether, you can set the OP in your "ignore" list and not see any of his posts.

So if it is ok with you, I'd prefer to decide what I don't want to look at or appreciate for myself- and wish the same for you.
How would Maplethorp's controversial subject matte... (show quote)

Thank you.
At camera club one time the club's monthly competition subject was "Human Form" and a female photographer came to give us a presentation about this subject prior to the competition entry time. She used famous nude photos in her Powerpoint slides, including both Robert Mapplethorpe and Ansel Adams works. One of her Mapplethorpe examples was a photo of an erect penis. Art is art. No one can tell other people what is or is not art.

And what about painted artworks? One time I was in Christchurch's public at gallery (South Island of New Zealand) and there as a huge painting of a nude woman with open 'crotch' for all to see - children included.

Not only that, but when I was in Paris I went to Pompidou and in there there was an 'art' video showing a nude woman and with fully dressed male and female people lining up in a queue to each have a turn of running their hands over her naked body however they saw fit. In Pompidou, Paris, even that is art.

I totally agree on diversity and mannerisms and conduct. You have some real jewels out there.

What makes a good photograph is one that transports the person/s to the scene of the photo. You live that moment and you feel the emotions of that moment. Your looking through someone else camera and your wishing you was there or that it was you who took that picture.
