An artist can capture beauty with any camera. The rest of us need the best camera.

Totally agree with you.

There's nothing like a Leica.
Maybe only a Russian space dog.

Not even that. The Russian space dog was LAICA.

I have purchased this Beseler dryer and haven't been able to find a user guide. I need to tear it down to clean and inspect/replace the canvas. Any help would be appreciated.

I found out that on Ebay there is a Case 1620 Combine Case IH 1620 Combine Owner Operator Maintenance Manual PIN JJC0032630-Up. It is offered at US $ 46.90.
Suggest you check yourself.

I went on a bug hunt with the macro lens yesterday at the Balboa Park rose garden. You never know what you might find there. Yesterday I found mostly flies.

Excellent shots!

The afternoon was grey and windy when we drove all the way to Dauphin Island's western end. But, once at the end of the road, the sun started to peek out from under the clouds and what a glorious sunset we witnessed from the site of a long-gone pier along the land bridge to the island. These are the moments that turn my knees weak with the utter beauty of the glowing sunset.

These images are from both a Galaxy S24+ and a Nikon D750.
(Best viewed in download...maybe then you'll spot which is which.)

"When you're running at these crazy speeds" where? I don't know of any place in the U.S. where I can run more than 85 (legally).

Beside the fact that speed is an addiction, you can drive this car at any speed you can handle, at any motorsport track.

I was going through some old photo ephemera and ran across this magazine. Is this kismet or what? Tomorrow is my 76th birthday and I haven't looked at these magazines in decades and here's one from my birth month and year. What are the odds? I'll take some photo's and pass them along in the next few days. They're fun to look at. So, the NYIP has been around for 86 years. Any graduates among us?

Happy Birth Day Young Boy!

Hello, everyone. I plan on getting a monopod to use with my camera . It'll be used primarily to photograph my grandsons soccer games .I'm using my r7 with a canon 70- 200 2.8 mk 2. I'm not a young guy anymore and this setup gets heavy quick. I'm 6 ft tall and I'd like to get one that's tall enough so I won't have to lean over any to use it. I would also like to keep the cost under $ 100.00. Anybody know of one that would work well for me?

I own two of them since many years and I am very satisfied with bth of them
The first is a Manfrotto 682B. It extends up tp 6 ft. The bottom includes a three legs hidden at the bottom of the monopod cylinder. Unscrewing the bottom the three legs are exposed when their holder is screwed back into the monopod. This way the monopod can stand up vertically like a tripod (unless a long heavy telephoto is attached to the camera). This feature is very useful.
The second monopod is a Open ACM 2400 lighter that the first one. It is just a monopod. Is length is 6 ft too.

Sadly, none of the images / versions have the bird flying toward the camera / looking toward the viewer. Ditch them all and find a better original to edit, beginning with a better pose of the wildlife subject.

You are right but it is impossible that a bird is flying toward you when you approach it. When you approach a bird, and this applies to any bird, it will fly away from you. If you want a bird flying toward you you need a partner. He has to approach the bird 180 degree from your position in respect to the bird. Then when he will get closer and become a danger to the bird, in order to escape the bird will fly away from him and then toward you. I was able to take pictures of bald eagles flying toward me with the help of my wife approaching the eagle from 180 degree in respect to my position and then walking toward me. Here is an example of a bald eagle's picture taken this way. Then I remove my wife from the picture with Photoshop. As alternative, you can always use a powerful telephoto and position yourself away from the bird to avoid to disturb it and wait.... till it will fly over you if you are lucky.

Here's a little survey/test I did on another photography site.

Below are four pictures of an egret taking off into flight.

The egret is the same bird in all 4 photos. There has been no corrections or adjustments made to either the bird or the sky in the photos. However, each picture is distinctly different, and I am interested in which one — and only one — you prefer and why.

After some folks have responded (I hope you play the game) I will explain this little exercise.

As far as I can understand, the positions of the bird's leg on the three is the same on all photos. You just took one photo and flipped it horizontally. # 3 is the best of me because it shows where the bird is going.

After 30 years I am retiring from B&H Photo as of 05/03/24. My job is being transferred to Geoffrey Ngai <gngai@bhphoto.com>.

Working for B&H and interacting here with all of you has been a singular and entirely satisfying experience. I want to thank everyone here who helped make it so. When I started at B&H I never expected to be here for 30 years, Now it's time to step back, stop setting the alarm clock every morning, and spend more time paying attention to my wife.

Best wishes to one and all.
