Took a trip over to Lake Francis to fish for walleye....water was still on the cold side 39 degrees....so the fishing wasn't that great. The lake is only 3600 acres but great for walleye and Northern Pike. We did bring in 3 walleye for the freezer so at least I have dinner!
But the scenery makes the trip worth it. Plus there is an island in the middle of the lake that has 1000's of birds during spring time for nesting. Seagulls, Snow Geese, Canada Geese, Great Blue Heron's, Coots, Mallards, Double Crested Cormorants and some that I can't identify. There usually are Grizzly bears that come down from the Rocky Mtn front to feed on that island...we usually see them but were a little early and the bears were not there yet.
Will make additional posts with the various birds.

There are lots of Grizzlies SW of where you were - where I live! We've had two sets of sows with three cubs each and two boars through. Didn't realize until further examining, when feeding the bulls, I literally fed the bulls right over the top of a set of big tracks.
