Only if you let it.
You can restrict what folders/drives it catalogs.
By default, it's 'MyPictures'.

How do you do that? The restrictions?

I use Picasa too... trying to find where it'll tell me how many images I have. Though there are some cell phone photos there, too.

Here are two more photos. I used a slight zoom lens on the Canada Geese. The swans I did the whole 20x.

Yes, you have to stay on the loop road, but you'd be amazed how close you can get to wildlife. I've had Blue Herons on the road right in front of me, eagles right next to the road, etc.

But you really need to plan some time to come down. The swans leave in the early spring but right now there are hundreds of them.

It's well worth the trip; and in the town of Ridgefield (very tiny) you can get a great meal at the cafe. The hardware store is also a fun place.

one of these days i've gotta make it down there. i've heard so many people saying what a great place it is for wildlife viewing. maybe this spring i'll take a day trip and see what all the hubbub is about. it does look, though, like you can't get terribly close to things... i've heard you pretty much have to stay on the loop roads?

I didn't use any filters at all. Don't have a polarizer one even. I'll have to check up on getting one. Thanks!

Thank you! I didn't know what the "store original" meant. I'll do that from now on.

Thanks, Jerry; you've given me some really good information. I think I will just forget about repairing the camera. I don't know how many photos and videos I've taken with mine; I take a LOT of photos. We've made three road trips to Montana and Yellowstone, plus two down to California, taking tons of photos on the way and back. I take tons of photos around here, too.

I wonder if I could count how many I've taken! Probably not as many as you, but then I have over 1000 just of my kitties!

I think the handwriting's on the wall. I'll get a new camera and keep my old faithful one for backup. It has certainly served me well.

I had the same camera and had the same problem. I went to using regular batteries and that solved the problem for awhile, but it returned later. Sometimes I could remove the batteries and put them back in and it would work Ok for awhile. A Canon rep told me it was probably an electrical problem inside the camera voltage sensing circuit. I did not get an estimate for repair because I was considering a new camera anyway. I think I could have worn it out if that is possible because I think I took at least 25,000 pictures with it, maybe double that.
