Thanks all for the input. I've been on the road and just got in a position to absorb all this. To those of yo that mentioned the Tough, I am looking for a good deal on one (used or reconditioned) as a back-up/pocket camera.

I'm a hiker/backpacker looking to buy a mirrorless camera - size and weight are important consideration for me. I'm seriously thinking of an Olympus OMD as they are weather-sealed and have in-body stabilization (I shoot exclusively hand held). Any words of wisdom from users or ex-users would be appreciated

Many great suggestions. I'd add the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath. Not far off route 1; they have on cruises including several lighthouses from the water and a land-based tour of Bath Iron Works.
