In the day, those silos were referred to as stave silos, my father in-law, worked on a traveling crew construction them, in the late 30's and early 40's.

I lived in west Phoenix in the 60's & early 70's.....Glad I don't live in that part of town anymore..... There were empty spaces between Glendale, Peoria & Phoenix. It's pretty much built up all the way to the White Tanks Mountains.

Dropped off many super 8mm movie cartridge's, at Fotomat's in the early 70's. Had dozens of locations, in Phoenix.
A couple buddies & I made films for competition in film festivals and high school film class. Not to brag, but I must say we did quite well.

It's great to see someone actually doing real work! It's become a very lacking trait in this country!
If you notice he's shingling over wood shingles that are probably 30+ years older then he is. He's also using roof jacks, this the way to do it, a harness and tether in this case would make it a more hazards. Caution is the best safety net of all. The problem with OSHA is that the people making the rules have never done the job!!

Wow!! That takes me back to the days of my youth!!!! Shelling corn, it was a farming community effort, everyone pitched in to help each other....Thanks for the memories!
