Anyone shooting the 7dii? If so, how would you rate ISO performance and image quality vs 7d?

You have NO credibility from my viewpoint. So I'll just choose to ignore you henceforth.

Nope...you have me all wrong my friend!!! Not a troll at all and will be more than willing to discuss anything with you in public or private. I am not bashing anyone just stating facts and asking questions. Far from a loser buddy!!!! I have said all and asked all I need to on this thread! You are only making yourself feel better about the lens you just purchased. If and when you ever become an accomplished photographer you may see my point of view. Until then, I can't wait for you. I didn't attack anyone but you have attacked me!! The handle is Titan1....spell it correctly next time with your superior "acuity"!!!

Be that as it may, there are several toll-like creatures here on UHH. But like usually happens, they gravitate back to their game site portals, or on to other forums as their attention spans are as limited as their acuity.

Anyway, I have enjoyed seeing what the Tamron 150-600 mm can do in the hands of great photographers. And it gives me things to try and aspire to.

Thank You Regis, and other contributors, to these Tamron threads. :D

Here is an example of what the lens can do in the hands of a true professional. The results are impressive but I have yet to see anyone else come close to what this guy has accomplished. Still not prime glass results but certainly decent in his hands. http://www.sumeetmoghe.com/2014/02/field-testing-bigron-aka-tamron-150.html

Portraits need not be tack sharp.....nobody want's to see every wrinkle in their face. However, the lens in question is far from a portrait lens and it is geared for sports and primarily wildlife. IT NEEDS TO BE SHARP :)

You couldn't possibly agree with what you quoted while simultaneously maintaining that sharpness is an objective measure.

Because sharpness is determined by what an individual considers acceptable and how they justify the money they spent according to value. It's subjective and although I understand your reasoning, in this case it's like judging beauty as faulty as that might seem. Eye of the beholder.

This quote seems to work well here.

Please explain how sharpness can be subjective???? Sharpness isn't art.

It's not fair to compare a $10,000 with a $1,000 lens or to think that there aren't differences with build quality, color rendition or sharpness. A prime long lens will most certainly out resolve a zoom in the high focal range.

For the money it's great but it's not in the same class. To play the devils advocate the prime lenses aren't 10 times better reflected in the price of the Tamron and as I said previously sharpness is subjective.

I do see differences as I own a Canon 500F4 but other factors such as light angle, micro contrast, long lens technique, knowledge of camera settings and experience further separate the final result.

 Some people know what sharp is and some don't. This forum is full of those that don't and a few that do. I guess whatever makes an individual happy is most important but to get better you have to realize what is good and what is bad. Just because a handful of one persons fans on UHH say great shot, blah,blah,blah....doesn't really mean much. Kinda like posting to Facebook. If you never want your work published, keep doing what you are doing. If you do, you should really study the craft and what makes for a great photo. The Tamron is a good lens for a hobbyist in my conclusion. I was hoping for better from it but it is what it is. I can't afford a 600mm prime either!!!

Those purple outlines are called. Chromatic abortion sometimes they are green always use your lens hood in high contrast situations. Take some pics in auto then look at the data on your photo editing software then use these settings in manual to replicate. IMHO a good way to learn.

What is chromatic abortion???
