Back stories: I spent an hour or so trying to capture this hummingbird perched by a blooming magnolia flower--I'd written a poem about this hummingbird and its magnolia tree. The best I got was the bird by a bud.
However, I'd previously seen this Anna's hummingbird flash yellow--something I thought unusual--I'd never seen one with such predominant yellow color. And, previously, I had spent some time chasing the bird around the front yard trying to capture this yellow/gold color. Lo and behold, the yellow showed up when in its magnolia tree perch. Such fun.
