I won't be catching up, as I thought I would be, as my brain has just decided that it needs to go to sleep, so I will get on here tomorrow morning, and do some catchup then, It will be a reasonably quiet day, as DH is going on a bike ride, so it will be Sweetie & myself at home, so I should be able to get a bit caught up. Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful day, either relaxing or doing whatever you want to do! xoxox

There was talk at Knit Night that a Michaels store is opening in the Cobourg mall. There are a whole bunch of yarn snobs at my LYS. I keep talking about synthetic yarns have a place, especially in baby yarn and for afghans. I think I'm the only reason that the owner carries acrylic yarn at all.

I have a few problems when I need to use acrylic yarns; psoriasis irritates my skin and sets of new sites of psoriasis lesions, which are more painful than the lesions that form with no help from other source's, so I rarely use acrylic yarns. It doesn't help that most of my girls have many issues with, that includes my beautiful gdk's! 🤔🤣😂🤣

I am now going to do a bit of a catchup, while I am having a reasonably good few hours. I really hope that everyone is having as good a day as possible, and those who are awaiting some medical treatment for continuing ailments.💖🤒😵‍💫🤧 Hugs to all who need them! xoxoxo

Good evening all, just dropping in to say "G'day". I was hoping to catch up on all the posts, but the eye that needs another op on, is playing up, and giving me a bit of a headache😖😣, and it is a bit difficult to read, so this is all I can cope with, until the headache has left ...... or I am able to take some more pain relief. I hope everyone has a good day, and the weather is as good as it can be. I will now sign off, and hopefully I will be able to get on here properly tomorrow evening! xoxoxo

Hello all, I hope everyone had a great Easter, with good weather. Easter here was quite good, although I only got to see 2 of my dd's, 3 dgd's and the eldest dgd's boyfriend. We are heading West on this coming Friday, so that we can visit the second family, & have a 2nd Easter. We didn't visit them for the Easter weekend, as there were about 15 kids in total, and about 8 adults; and that is far too many people for me to cope with.

I will now do a semblance of a catchup, and might even answer some posts while I am at it! I hope everyone is sleeping well! xoxoxo

That's what we do. Alan just walks away.

I think that's the best way, then no-one says anything they regret, and we communicate when we are happy again!

I think at 5'8'' you are still above average height for women.
You can't compete with your children. That is a losing game.

I know that, but my brain refuses to listen, so I am investigating how to stop my spine from shrinking!

I'm happy at 5'9", which is what I have shrunk to from 5'10". I would hate to be over 6'

My niece hit 6' during her teens. My brother and SIL had her in skating and ballet to try to make her less awkward about her height. It never really worked. The one thing that did work was finding her now husband, who was a couple of inches taller than her. It changed her posture completely.

At my full height, when I was younger, I was always proud of my height; I was a quarter inch of 6ft; & taller than all of the other girls, and some of the boys! I am not sure what my height is now, but sometimes I seem to be the same height as DD4; and I get a bit sad, as she is only about 5'8", which means that I am shrinking .... and I don't want too, even though it is unavoidable! 🤔😣😖 xoxoxo

Hard work so far, done two loads of washing and renewed my driving licence, taking the rest of the day off. xx

That just sounds like far too much work, you definitely deserve to rest, for the remainder of the day! xoxoxo

Good morning all from a cloudy and drizzly Norfolk. Not sure what, if anything, I'm going to do today but will do it in my own time. One or two little things to do but apart from that I shall enjoy a peaceful Sunday. Hope you all do too. xx

Sounds like a plan for the best day, I really hope your plan comes to fruition! xoxoxo

Inside I know the doctors are right. I just have not accepted it as fact yet. I know I have so much to be thankful for concerning the healing of my arm. First glad it was my right arm, glad I can use my hand almost normally, glad I have strength in that arm, and extremely glad I did not lose the arm entirely. When I think that way I realize I should not feel bad about the few things I cannot do.

Hi Jinx, I am really sorry about the impact on your knitting, is there any other way of continuing with your knitting, perhaps there is a different tool that you could use, and not give you pain while using it. Unfortunately, I don't know if there is anything that is available, or even what it would be! xoxoxo

We bought some spray that they don’t like. Son sprayed around the rental. Also beeped the horn and played the radio. I will get a pest company that can catch and release the chipmunks elsewhere like in park.
I get afraid when I read side effects of meds. So far am ok. But I think it said it takes a while to work it’s wonders. On the Sunday Morning show last Sunday they said research indicates increase in heart attacks and strokes following the start of daylight savings time

Perhaps Daylight Savings should be cancelled, if the research is correct; & those who want to begin their days an hour earlier, can just set their alarms an hour earlier! As a shift worker, I really did not like daylight savings, I suppose it was great for the day workers ( or those who only worked a particular timeframe, and not a range of shifts within a week; it really isn't good for shiftworkers! 🤐🤔😖xoxoxo

I'm halfway through the front of a jumper, with one sleeve also to go. Last night the pain in my left wrist was so great I had to stop. I have wrist and thumb bands but the pain bit through even the best one. I'm gutted. I need to finish it

Sorry you have to suffer for your craft.
It has taken me a long time to believe the doctor that I will not be able to knit/crochet again. I keep trying, but the pain I suffer for days/weeks for trying is telling me the doctor was right.😭

So sorry that the pair of you are having difficulty with knitting/crochet. Janet, I hope the pain in your wrist(s) disappears, after resting them for a few days, and Jinx ....... sometimes the doctors are right, even when we don't want them to be! I hope you both feel better soon! xoxoxo

I’ve been filling in my form today and I think it’s finished. ✅ I’ve had enough of that. I’ve been into Karen’s today. She’s fine, she said she’s got a cleaning lady coming to see the house 🏠 tomorrow. She’ll feel better. ❤️‍🩹. Stephen is back in our country, and not very well at all. Says he’s got a terrible tummy……I thought it might be the vodka and curry he had last night. Will men never learn. He texted me from the bath 🛀 I’m not sure what I’m supposed to say….other than starve yourself, and by his retort he’s not apparently into that. Well, sorry son…..t your tum!

The man who bought the land round here and the old railway station 🚉 has been setting fires and burning 🔥 rubbish today. It’s well away from us . Michelle has gone out and calling in at Asda so she’s getting me a couple of things, I’ve had no shopping 🛒 this week and I’m running low, not on coffee though.. 😝 🤪 hahaha

I think I’ll do some jigsaws and e mails as I’ve had enough of forms.stay safe girls, have nice weather ? Stay friends with your partners and here we go on another week. I don’t seem to have much planned, I think chat club is on on Tuesday. I shall have to check up 🆙

I can't think of a time when DH & I have ever had an argument; I think when we do get cross with each other, we tend to just leave each other to our own company, until we feel a bit more kindly to each other. xoxoxo

Good Morning all, it is 0200hrs,18th March 2024, and I am wide awake, & not expecting to get to sleep any time soon, so I will do some catchup, & see how much I get read.

We have just finished a week long heatwave🔥🥵 with temps in the mid to high 45 to 48℃ (120 -126℉), with no relief overnight, I don't know what the temps were overnight, but it was still far too warm for a descent sleep. Now I am hoping for a few days of much cooler weather! I think this is the first time that I have actually hoped that Winter was just a few days away! I hope the weather, in your regions, is being much kinder than it has been in my immediate region! xoxoxo

I'd love to see all those places too. We'll see once I retire if I have any money for travel at all.

I hope you are able to get there, because I won't make it in this lifetime; but if I come back for another life,

I will be spending that life travelling the entire world; excluding the places that are having problems with wars.
