Yes, I do all my photo work on a desktop PC (still using Windows 7) with the Google Drive app.
Been procrastinating about upgrading to W10 but it’s a fast machine and so far, for the work I do it works fine for me. Thanks for the info.
Best regards.

FYI
Regarding my note on 12/17 about slow photo transitions using Google Drive, if you haven't checked recently it appears it's been fixed. It's back to normal instant change both forward and backwards.
Thank you all UH folks that responded (chuckrem, Longshadow, RiJoRi, et all).

Yes, Rich; It's good to know that other users are unfortunately having the same experience.
I just wonder if there's a user option available where the quick photo transition function can be restored(??). Other than deliberately downloading the folders to the hard drive.
As it is right now viewing is cumbersome and very time consuming. Perhaps there's a way of querying Google about it and maybe have them fix it?
If "chickrem" and "longshadow" happen to read this note, in answer to their comments I haven't experienced any router problems and no game-playing was involved.
Thank you all for your response and suggestions.
Merry Christmas!

Question for you folks that are savvy using Google Drive for storing photo albums.
Used to be just a couple of months ago that after the first picture was selected in a folder there would be a normal delay, but when scrolling to the next photo (and all the rest) the transition was instantaneous. Now, there's a very long delay before the next photo is displayed. This is true with all subsequent shots. However, going back (or forward) to/from the prior photos that have already been viewed, the transition is again immediate.
Has Google done something with the buffering of the complete album as opposed to single shots?? If in fact that's what they use.
I hope my question is understood.
Thanks for your help/comments.

Hi Dik;
Thanks for your suggestion on the R5. Good to know about performance with existing lenses.
As opposed to DSLRs and for lack of a better name I refer my Fujifilm X-Pro1 as a view camera.
Regards.

Good morning Wallen;
No risk of "a-hole" attitude or bursting any bubbles. What you say makes perfect sense.
I shoot mostly nature photos and occasionally freelance wedding gigs by referral only. I now have some disposable cash and would just like to upgrade to a full frame sans mirror without breaking the bank. Call it a whim if you wish but in time we all like to get in sync with new advancements in the photo/video world.
Your comments are well taken and appreciated.
Regards and Happy Holidays.

Great suggestion and I’ve thought about it but was concerned about mount compatibility.
Thank you.

Tapping on either experience or prior research by the astute UHH membership, I would be grateful for suggestions on a late model full frame mirrorless digital camera. Cost vs. quality (value) should be considered. Now using Canon DSLRs and Fujifilm view camera. Not particularly set on either brand.
Your recommendation(s) will save me brand/model and vendor research time and are much appreciated.

Just something to share. Sometimes a shot happens unexpectedly. I inadvertently left the flash on after taking some shots indoors and the photo attached was the result. I liked the colors reflection on the pool.

I am trying to put together a setup to do portraits/headshots in my family room. I ordered the last pieces of equipment this morning, the 20” x 28” softbox and another TT520II speedlight for the Hair/Rim light. Attached is a test photo I did without the Hair/Rim light. the model is my lovely wife. I also attached a drawing of the setup. Am I missing anything?

Lovely lady. Great shot with balanced lighting and true flesh tones. On the pose I think the torso angle is perfect,
however, I would’ve had her head turn a little towards the camera and therefore avoid the side look.
Just my opinion so plz take it in good faith.
Looks like your new lighting gear was well worth it.
Regards.

In trying to catch up with recent Hedgehog commentary traffic, I want to respectfully disagree with Azat.Vi's note on Canon.
Since my early days with the AE1, over the years I've had the need to deal directly with Canon a few times for either consultation, repair work, or camera exchanges (except for occasional use of a Fujifilm X-Pro1, I shoot mostly with Canon cameras and lenses).
In my opinion, their customer service has always been attentive and professional.
In this world of apparent indifference towards customer support with some major companies, I've always found Canon to quickly respond and provide follow-up to my queries and issues.
So yes, although sometimes there will be inevitable exceptions, from my experience they certainly merit "kudos" in their customer service effort.
Regards.

Nice gear, but as you travel you might eventually find it heavy and cumbersome. Specially if you're walking which you will probably do a lot. I've been to Europe several times during the last few years and taken a lot of pix. Never taken more than a compact SLR or DSLR with a mid-range zoom. In fact, the last trip I took I used a Canon PowerShot w/25x optical zoom and it worked out very well...in my pocket and hands free. However, that may not be suitable enough for your needs or expectations on your trip.
As far as safety in Paris goes, no problems at all as long as you stay alert of your surroundings...same as any other major city. Just ask the Japanese tourists with ~$5K worth of equipment hanging from their necks. And yes, in Paris you will be walking a lot - best way to see that beautiful city.
Have a great trip.

Enjoy your trip and don't complicate your life.
I have tons of Canon and Fujifilm gear and on my next trip to Europe (about a month) I will be taking a Canon PowerShot with a 25X optical zoom and built-in flash. Used last year on a similar trip and with an average of 3Mb .jpg files I was never disappointed. Largest prints I would plan on making would be 5x7's anyway.
Fits in your pocket and gives you good freedom of movement.
Years past I did travel with DSLRs and small selection of lenses. With travel protocol and restrictions as there are nowadays, in my mind I find it to be cumbersome and for touring photography unnecessary.
Just my opinion and don't forget the battery charger and a spare SD card.
Have a fun trip.

Took the Alaska cruise with Princess out of Seattle last August. A great trip.- Good weather, good accommodations, great food and service. As far as seeing a variety of wildlife during the cruise by the coastline I was disappointed. I think my expectations were set a little too high. Didn't see any bears, moose, deer, elk, whales, or orcas. Just dozens of otters feeding in the water and several eagles flying or nesting.
I decided to travel light and left my Canon DSLRs with lenses at home. I just took a Canon Power Shot SX30 IS (4.3-150mm/f2.7-5.8) and a pocket Canon Power Shot SX620 for convenience. They worked out very well throughout the trip with 6 to 7Mb .jpg files that if you're not too picky were quite satisfactory. The panoramic shots of a very scenic coastline were better than expected; particularly those of the glaziers. Lighting was always favorable.
In my opinion, on this kind of trip you shouldn't burden yourself with a lot of equipment and accessories which you might never need.
I hope you have a great cruise and better luck than I did in spotting local wildlife.
Happy New Year!!
