I don't remember specifically where I got that one, I think it came along with something else I ordered a few years ago. However I looked on Amazon just now and typed in Nikon 18-200 lens rubber focusing ring and it brought up several choices most less than $10. It does make turning that ring easier to find by feel and easier to turn. The one that I have has a label on it called Camdesign and it says its actually for a 70-200 lens but it works fine on the 18-200 and probably many others[/quo

Thanks muchly Dan
Will check it out.

As an aside,................I have the D7100 and....I really like the images it produces as well.
After looking into a bit more I found that ones I saw on Amazon were just replacements for the rubber rings that come on the lenses. But on the b&h site I saw some more similar to the one I have that go over the built in rubber ring. One was called Lens band and was omly $5.
Hope you don't mind me commenting, but I now own a half dozen Nikon bodies and the D7200 is the one I grab more than any other. I love it. With its very low shutter count, this one is next-to-new. I suspect someone will be very happy with it. I'm having to sit on my hands while I wonder which of my children would like this one. Heaven help me. [/quote

I do agree with you. I do love my 7200 and kind of hate to let it go so if it does not sell I won't be upset. I am not offering it for sale because I need the sale money. It's just that at my age of 77 which is probably about average for this forum the issue of disposing of all this camera gear when I pass may be a problem for my family. No one else in my family has any interest in cameras or photography in general so I thought if I could thin down the number they have to deal with afterward it would give them one less thing to have to deal with. That may sound stupid and it does indeed sound stupid to me at times. That's why I have been indecisive as to whether to sell or not since I know that trying to sell at a local camera store or an online such as KEH will give them a rip off price. At least on this forum I know I am dealing with people who have the interest and the knowledge to appreciate its true value.

Question Dan,.....Where did you get the nice fit blue rubber focus grip???,...I'm using small rubber bands used for banding lobster claws,.......appropriate since in live in down east Maine,....lol....about $8.00 for a bag of 500 bands (for me a lifetime supply),..a bit tight but have worked okay.
Thanks muchly.

I'm not sure if I really want to do this because I really do love this camera but since I simply have too many cameras I thought I would at least put this feeler out to see if there is any serious interest. I have 5 digital cameras with all but this one being mirrorless and I am not sure if getting rid of my only DSLR is wise or not but here goes.
My D7200 is in like new condition with no scratches or blemishes. Shutter count 6379. It has a Nikon 18-200 type 2 lens on it which is also in very good condition. After checking internet prices for used cams I found that all cams of this type and condition are being listed from $500-$600 for body only. I would prefer to sell it with the 18-200 lens which I purchased used from KEH for $240. I would sell both and an additional Nikon 24mm f2.8D lens which I also purchased last year from MPB for $140. All three would go for $800. I will even throw in a Nissin I40 flash for Nikon also in very good condition.
I really don't want to sell body only but if I did it would be $600. I have photos which I am posting. If interested reply and I will give my phone number. Thanks.

US Army 1968-1971 Vietnam era. came out as an E5 which I reached within my first year. I worked in photography both in Vietnam as a lab tech for the 131st aviation co which did aerial recon work and for the second half of my three years I was at white sands missile range doing both lab work and photography of missile launchings and general base functions. I learned a lot about photography in general in the military but actually got started in it in high school in 1963.

Photolady 2014 asked me who I used to make the book. I think I used Sam's or Costco's to print the 12x12 prints and mounted them myself in an album that had self stick pages but I am not sure of that. Looking at the book again the prints all seem too perfectly and evenly mounted for me to do by hand so I may have sent them to an album company and had them mount them. I just don't remember.

Yes here are the last pages of that book I made up 5 years ago. I have thought about doing the same kind of book using family photos but probably never will because with so many to choose from narrowing it down to the best choices seems like an intimidating task. Every time I review this book I question some of the choices I made in putting it together because I am always trying for perfection but who knows what that is since that's always changing in my mind. In reality I have no good excuse for not doing that or any other number of fun photography projects other than loss of interest and just being too tired and unmotivated. By the way I turn 77 years old today. I hope I make 80.

I’m betting it took more than a couple of minutes to put this together. Very well done!

I used the same technique using layers in photoshop to design wedding albums back in the day. Its actually pretty easy once you learn the basics of layers in PS.

I started yesterday with the first 10 pages of this 40 page book so here are the second 10 pages. Actually the last one from yesterday was a double page spread printed at 12x24 in the book so it was actually pages 10 and 11. The rest are all singles at 12x12.

I put this book of composite page travel photos together about 5 years ago. As can be seen photos are arranged in location categories and it was printed into a 12x12 hard cover album. There are 40 pages in total so I can only show 10 at a time which I will try to do in the next 4 days. I tried posting this once before but it never showed up for some reason- I must have done something wrong. Anyway here are the first 10. I hope some will enjoy them.

I visited Springfield Mo this past summer and took the tour thru the Wonders of Wildlife museum which is attached to the huge bass pro shop there. It is an expensive place to visit but I think well worth it. It consists of a huge aquarium section which was the best I have ever seen by far and a huge and wonderful wildlife section which shows stuffed or faked animals of all types displayed in natural looking settings. Many of the fish views are also faked models that look real but most are real fish., I have visited several really nice aquariums in various cities and none even began to compare to this one. Same goes for nature museums I have seen in large cities like Chicago's field museum. I will go again next time I am near Springfield. It also had a very large photo exhibit section with fantastic award winning nature photos displayed not as prints but on huge high definition monitors. Anyway here are a few of the fish photos that I shot in this aquarium as well as three shots of fishermen.

Re: Dan Ellis: That squirrel is so spectacular that I cannot restrain myself from asking-Which camera? Which lens? Davidb1879.

It was shot with my Sony Rx10iv. In fact almost all of these photos were shot with the RX10iv. On this 2018 trip I took along my Nikon D750 with one lens the 24-120 and the Sony bridge cameras. I shot with the Sony 90 percent of the time and found its lens to be every bit as sharp and probably sharper than the Nikon. Its greater zoom range was why I used it most of the time. The only issue I have with the RX10 is that in low light levels if I have to use a high ISO the images can look noisier and not as sharp as I would like. You can see in the squirrel photo if you enlarge it that it does suffer a bit from this issue due to its small one inch sensor, still it is my favorite camera overall.

I posted the first 10 yesterday and now have a second 10. Some people asked me about the location of a couple of lighthouses that were shown yesterday. As these were all shot in 2018 or earlier I really don't remember the names of or specific locations of either of them other than they were on the Washington or northern Oregon coast. On those photos the lighthouse was the same one. I just copy/pasted it from one onto the other to make the panorama more interesting. (I am talking about the ones I post yesterday, not today) I think they were north of Astoria which is where the bridge was. The squirrel was shot on a short path just off a roadside rest stop. He was just sitting there no more than 6 feet from me calmly eating his nut. Any way her are ten more and probably the last from this area.

I have driven through these two states on 2 or 3 occasion driving down the west coast usually ending up in Las Vegas. Most recently in 2018 I intended to explore more of the great northwest but only wound up visiting crater lake and Mt. St. Helens, both of which are represented here. I have too many for one day so her goes day one. On the last two shots the lighthouse is the same on both. I simply selected it and copy\pasted it onto the cliff on the panorama. I hope I'll be able to drive out there again and see more of the northwest before my health prevents it.
I'll have another 10 of the area tomorrow and then down to California or possibly to Montana.
