Not knowing the details surrounding your settings on the camera and the type lens used. I offer to show that I had the similar problem as well. I determined that shooting these birds through a three inch glass may have introduced distortion to the image.

The above images shot using Canon EOS 90D, f/2.8, 1/100 sec, 100mm Canon lens.

Try the combine use of a light meter with a booster. The booster is designed to get the reading of light reflection off the plastic or any reflective material e.g., glass, mirror, plastic, even bright snow. Boosters aren't used much, but for your challenge it might prove very useful. I have the Sekonic L-508 light meter that I use with the Sekonic Booster to get the correct metered lighting from reflective objects.

Hope this helps.

Eviemyoung, I couldn't agree with you anymore. I had a wonderful time in Cuba as well. If I had any drawbacks would be the aggressive solicitation (begging) from the people on the streets. Having said that, I explored the unique relationship between Afro-descended populations in Cuba and the United States Afro-Americans. This fulfilled one of the 12 requirements for visiting Cuba under People-to-people travel. This cross-national relationship nurtured by Afro-Cubans and black Americans helped Cubans see American's many similarities that exist. I certainly have enjoyed my week on the island, and the ONLY negative was the aggressive solicitation.

Nightlife in Cuba is enormous and impressive. I'm one of those so-called thrill-seekers. I like the challenge of exploring beyond the expectations. When you have others traveling, I have to take into account everyone's safety.

Yes, I tried the food in Cuba. Was not sicken from eating it. With great emphasis, do not drink the local water. Make sure to carry your bottled water.

The 2015 CUBA FAQs is just that, questions which were applicable during my 2017 trip to Cuba. From the looks of your question about the form, have you taken the time out to read the FAQs I posted? The Cuba Travel Certificate (Visa) requirement is still use by the State Department for entry to Cuba.

Yes, Europe and many other counties have been traveling to Cuba long before the doors re-opened for America. From my perspective, it was to touristy from what I have read and seen in photos.

Thank you for your feed back.

The attached 'Frequently Asked Questions Related to Cuba' form will just about answer your questions relative to your planned trip to Cuba. I have attached 'Cuba Travel Certificate' form (Visa application) will explain what you are permitted to do once you arrive in Cuba.

I visited Cuba late 2017, while the charm and beauty exist, Cuba is quickly becoming to touristy.

Note: The current White House Administration (Mr. Trump) is drastically undermining the relationship with Cuba, that the former White House president (President Barack Obama) attempted to open doors to a better U.S. and Cuba cooperation.

Hope that each of the forms will address your concerns and questions related to the planned trip.

Have fun!

Dan,
Thank you for your swift reply. The beauty of Canon XF305 is that I can adjust the camera's size to fit shooting platform. While I have only touched a small portion of using the XF305 for use in Photography, I have beautiful photos in each of the format sizes. I will upload them for others to see. Since most of the work I do involves video formatting, editing, content, etc the use of Adobe CC platform further allows me to color grade easily due to the codex used in the camera being 4.2.2.

I was hoping to find someone who may have used the Canon XF305 for pictures only to provide me with some additional insights on shooting platform related to custom pictures setting and len(s). I used the current set custom presets for video work and was blown away by the crisp images.

Hi all! Recently been using my Canon XF305 camcorder to shoot nature e.g., birds, squirrels, groundhogs, deer, etc running in the backyard. I discovered that this camera can do stills by mistake. Guessing that's how many fantastic photos are created. I like to get some additional information about improving the picture process using the Canon XF305, and any len(s) that may be used to enhance the photography experience. My background is in cinema video recording, but this new discovery has a greater expectation for further review. I welcome all communications that will help me to improve on this new project using a video camera for photography
