Bunko.T...WOW! Fantastic job fixing the photo! I can see why it took lots and lots of clicking, but WOW! Well worth all of the work and maybe a little carpel tunnel!! =)

Harvey!...nice job on the pic! I didn't even think about taking out the feeders hanging on the fence. I guess it just looked normal to me, but I can see how much cleaner the fence is without them.

Bunko.T - no sheep or cows, but how about some horses? =) No wine needed for this pic, Harvey, though if you happen to have an extra glass..... =)

My hubby was nice enough to drive me back to this place for a redo on the shot! And bonus, there were clouds in the sky today so it added a little interest that I was cutting out the last visit. =) Here are a few. The only tweeking that I did to these was in contrast, saturation, sharpening, noise cleanup and cropping as needed. =)

RaydancePhoto....I try to get it right in camera too. In the end it just makes life easier, but I am finding that I enjoy the editing when I have a moment to do it. I'm still learning how to use the software, but striving to get it right the first time makes my learning curve slightly less frustrating! =)

RaydancePhoto...end result of what you did is very similar to what I had in mind to do. However, I'll admit step 2 and 3 are completely over my head. =) Thank you! =)

I love the fact that you guys are so good are removing the pole! I really need to try my hand at it.

I agree, ygelman, the partial building in the upper right of the frame was for hay storage it looked like. That was definitely going to get chopped out in the tweaking process.

However, cutting off the top of the pole and pulling it away from the top of the frame seems like it would look even more odd than the barn having an extra appendage. =) I'll play with it though when I get to playing with it on my end.

Niffarts and Bunko.T...thank you for playing with this...I really appreciate it. Bunko it looks like you brightened the photo slightly the 2nd time around when you removed the barn? Or am I just seeing things? =)

sinatraman...I hadn't heard that quote before, but it is so true! I love all animals, but big cats have always held a special place in my heart.

I could sit at rescues and zoos taking pictures all day. =)

snowbear...thank you! =) She's beautiful. You can't really see it in this picture but at the right angle the black under her eyes looks like running mascara. =)

Thank you Wizz. =)

"Mom! Look! A tree! Quick! Take a picture before it moves. Here...I'll hold it for you!"

She's crap for hauling gear, but she makes up for it by making me laugh. =)

Wow! I spend the day outside mowing and I have a whole heap of responses! Thank you everyone! Seems cloning is the most popular technique. I'll definitely have to play with cloning.

Thank you also everyone to liked the picture. It definitely needs some tweaking as the lighting wasn't right, but it's one of those places along the highway that you either stop to get the shot and hope you can fix it or don't and regret it. =)

I'm attaching the downloadable version for those that would like to play with the photo - both to get rid of the pole and other fun that they would like to have. I'd love to see what everyone comes up with...

Carioca...thanks. I'll definitely be checking out the tutorial.

robert-photos...thanks. I'll do some searching to see if I can't figure out how to go about doing that in PSE.

Hi everyone...

I am hoping that someone out there more knowledgeable with PSE 8 can help me out.

I took this picture today. It needs some tweaking, but I've been trying to get rid of the power pole behind the peak of the barn roof. I can't get most of it to disappear with the spot healing brush, but when I get down close to the roof itself it's healing the pole with bits of the corrugated metal roof instead of the trees that I'm wanting. Grrrr....

I know just enough in PSE to make myself dangerous, so detailed instructions to help me get rid of the stupid thing would be really REALLY appreciated. =)

Thanks in advance.

Jewell

tainkc...Not necessarily better, just different. =)

MtnMan...There were a lot of reasons behind why I took this shot from the (incredibly uncomfortable) angle that I did. On my particular azalea bush (I can't speak for other varieties) the petals are paper thin and I wanted the petals to glow...the bright background allows for that. Also, other than the shiny tips on the stamens these blooms don't have a lot of detail in them even with the naked eye. Because of their thinness they have an airy feel to them anyway. So the bright background gave the glowing petals some definition without the harsh contrast. I was going for a light airy feel...

I've been thinking about getting some reflectors. I think I'll be snooping around Amazon (again). =) hehe

Pellwanger...thanks. =)

walterpurvis...increasing the fill light on which? The b/w or the color version?

crazy4thread...thanks. I agree too...the foreground is a little distracting to me but the white of the flowers is bright enough that my eye goes past it.

Hi everyone...thanks for the feedback on the image. =)

Apologies for not responding sooner. The week seemed to get away from me....again! =)

As for the whole black and white -vs- color...I agree flowers do tend to look better in color. However, at the same time most *everyone* expects to see a flower picture in color. Changing things up from time to time and doing something that the viewing public doesn't expect and yet doesn't steal away from the original image is always something we should strive for regardless of what the subject is. Not to mention it allows for a person's personal experiences to mentally color the flower whatever color they wish to see.

Also, because the original image was screwy because of the lighting mixture of clouds and sun (as well as my camera settings as I don't normally shoot in S) adversely affecting the flower color black and white was an experiment...which ended up being a happy accident.

Granted this wasn't one of my best pictures and isn't one that I would offer for sale for a multitude of reasons, but it was one that I ended up liking, and I appreciate all the thoughts. =) So...for that - thank you!

Now...for a color version of a different one of the azalea blooms. The bush is really starting to go balls to the wall with the flowers since that first image was taken. =)
