I hate traveling on the freeway in the center lane and I am closer than I want to be to the car in front. The cars pass on the right and try to crowd in and do. Some force their way in like they just don't care if there is an accident. I follow closer than I want to and yet they do it and crowd in. The merging of these cars and 18 wheelers passing slows the whole freeway where we would all get there sooner if a little courtesy was used. Every time we see a multi car pill up like 43 cars in a crash ask one another. "You don't suppose they were following too close". I did a bunch of safe driving courses in the military and the recommended car lengths to follow at is a pipe dream in reality. People don't know how to merge and they don't know how to negotiate a 4 way stop. Being too courtious there screws the whole thing up. When it's your turn take it.

Amazing that something as big as Burma Shave and Stuckey's could just disappear. Stuckey's was huge and especially in the Southwest along the interstates. Buildings are still there in some cases but Stuckey's is gone. I do not miss their famous pecan rolls. That white center was terrible.

39 years 9 months. Army National Guard. Worked counter narcotics on both boarders, worked in and out of Colombia from 03 to 07 and then to Iraq in 08 for 165 combat missions. Rated both rotor wing and fixed and retired as an LTC. I flew turbo props but took this picture as the Air Guard was practicing intercept after 9/11.

I just don't get tired of that Mountain. Specially pretty in white. I never noticed the horse when I was shooting the photos.

We had a really nice day yesterday and decided to take advantage and enjoy it. I never get tired of Mt Hood. I went up on top of Mt Angel and took some of Hood as well as the display they have at the seminary.

The number of time zones is just a product of the size of the country. China is large and has 5. The sun will come up at the same time each day no matter what we call it. We call it dawn but the numeric value is what is in question and there are a whole lot more important things in the world than the numeric way we track time.

Having Greenwich as the prime meridian or zero was established in 1851. Going from there in 15 degree 1 hour increments has worked well for years.

Maybe we should state that the 360 degree circle of the earth divided by 24 hours leaves 15 degrees per time zone. The standardization came from trains needing to standardize to due schedules that meant something. Something passengers could understand and predict an outcome or know when to leave and when they needed to be picked up.

It is not law. We voted it down in Oregon numerous times but the legislature shoved it you know where. They know much better than us stupid voters. This was when I was little. My dad always said that you can't change the sun and if you want to go to work an hour early, go but leave the clocks alone. We are farmers. Plants and animals don't know daylight time. They know the sun. Get real.

The RX10 is an amazing camera. My first was a 2 and I had to have the 4. The 1 and 2 are smaller and great cameras. My P1000 is huge. Not sure about the 950 but I am pretty sure it's smaller. My guess is if you try the RX 10 II you will love it. I bought the 4 because of the extra zoom but the I and II have digiat a zoom and are smaller. I am guessing you might like it. I actually took better pictures with my II.

I am here and it's a P1000 and an RX10. Both great cameras. I got rid of the RX10 one and bought a 4. I have both. Love both. I actually took better pictures with the RX 10 I than I do with the new one but what the hell. I have taken some great sunset shots with the P1000 thou that should be RX territory. I have taken some great moon shots with the RX and that should be P1000. I am thinking of going back to my D3500 cuz I understand the menu and can do some amazing things with it. It's better in low light than either of the 2 more expensive cameras.

We went over to McMinville today for the air show. The Blue Angels did a great job. Those guys are good. We have been to their winter home in El Centro and have great respect for those guys.

Next day they flew. This was last night and today they flew. That is our front porch. Robin was around long enough to learn something about her personality. Kind of cool. She is a good mother. That is just a cell phone. She used a planter last year and we didn't really want her back but the nest was built and eggs laid before we knew. We like her a lot but would rather she were a waze further away. She complained to use a lot but got pretty comfortable with our presence.
