Heading out of the house this morning on the way to the store and this beautiful Giant Swallowtail Butterfly was flittering around our Ixora's....headed back inside to grab the camera and went back outside, he was ready to depart but got one good photo of his final landing before he left, immediately after this shot....Cheers

Wow! Impressive ...timing; sharpness, exposure, composition. This is THE PERFECT PICTURE.

We will be out of touch for the next couple of weeks with travel to and from Hilton Head Island. I will not be staying in touch, but I hope to catch up when I return. I hope that the birds are plenty and the weather is good.

Therefore, if you do not hear from me starting tomorrow, it is not a snub.

Bonnes vacances! Have fun, sun and snap even greater pictures!
See You soon.

Lovely pictures! Those flowers look sweet and have a delicate look with their finely ciseled petals. A very subtle pink cast in the white does add a feminine touch.

I got the idea for this picture while swimming, so I took my camera to the pool on our next swim.

I purchased a field bag a couple of years ago from Focus Camera and it came with several accessories, most of which were useful (I was really buying it for the bag itself, the rest was just extra stuff). Anyway, included was this plastic card (see image below), in fact, there was a package of three of them. The issue is that there was no explanation as to what they're used for. I've had the package of them laying in a desk drawer and every time I see them I can't help but wonder to what purpose are they.

Anyway, if anyone out there can give me some insight, I'd appreciate it. Note that I've gone back to the Focus Camera site and looked at this camera bag with accessories and it shows these plastic cards but without any explanation as to what they're used for. And the Focus Camera site is the only place where I've ever seen anything like this.

So, any help would be appreciated:

This could be the board to compare "traditionnal" sizes of millimetric sized negatives/slides" '24x36) with their counterparts sized in "inches commercial dimensions" (1" x 1,5")...this could grow up to paper formats.
No headache when it comes to magnify the négatives and cut the paper.

Nice lighting! It demonstrates, quite hard light from the side does enhance textures. It matches perfectly the strawberries! This image makes me hungry!!

Our HOA has commissioned various displays. Although I am not sure why we would need this, this set shows an interesting dragon fashioned out of old Utah license plates.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Interesting subject for a great set nicely shot! Very creative idea

Because of the Oquirrh Mountains to our west blocking the sunset, our front garden never gets direct golden hour sunset light. Also, some parts of the garden get direct light and others remain in the shade. In this set, I tried to capture multiple flowers, some in the sunlight and some in the shade.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

UTMike...I appreciate Your flowers (Hmmm...better said: he photos of them!).
Perhaps in Your garden are some spots where a mirror could just re-direct the light to illuminate flowers which never can get those "direct" strays.
It is just an idea to capture other beauties!

Wonderful bird ...colors are mindblowing! You probably would have hope to get the same scene with a little sun ray back lighing the "talent"...?
I wish You to get next time a little help from mother Nature... You and the subject are both wort it.

I promise you that everything you see here, excepting the recessed door, is on the exact same, perfectly flat plane.

Great photo! Few colors/ton, but right enough to render a very good contrast.
I also prise the rythmus of the vertical/horizontal and "cross" alignement of the various planks.
Alltogether, a very nice result!
