I brought this lens along for a model shoot recently and was initially thinking 135mm would be too long. However, I am really liking everything about it. Here it is wide open with natural light. Focus is a bit soft and I went a little overboard on the vibrance/satauration in LrC but otherwise it has great background/foreground separation and some nice lens effects. I also love that 52mm filters fit so many of these classic Nikon lenses.

If sharper focus and more sterile lens effects are your thing there are some great examples in the Alex Luyckx blog linked above.

It seems by all accounts it really is a great lens. Thank for the information.

Hello,
At this moment I have no questions but its nice to know you are there.

I have came across about six entries on the web so far. I will be putting the lens on my Flickr site with some comments and links that I can find for other users.

Thanks for the offer of help though.

I have tried in vain looking for an instruction manual for the Nikon 135mm f2.8. I have only found some Youtube videos and a few descriptions about the lens but I can not find much, any help?

There will NEVER be better Nikon Equipment than the ones made in Japan.

But the again most people did not like the "E Series" type of len's but look how good they turned out to be.

Note some equipment made in China will stand the test of time, But like many, I do believe that Nikon's made in Japan have a head start over the one's made elsewhere.

They like most companies have shifted making cameras oversea's, Money talks very loud in the Committee Room. I feel sorry for the Nikon Staff in Japan.
