Living here you don't realise how beautiful your country truly is. Taken with my point and shoot.

Wow, I want to live there! I never take my mountain view for granite! :-D

These are great photos. I understand the women are beautiful also in Costa Rica.

Thanks for looking. The Ticas are very nice people.

I'm constantly experimenting with my photos. Surfing is one of my favorite subjects, so it naturally seemed fit to alter my surfing photo. Please download this one.

That is really cool. I love seeing what people can do in PP.

I posted a closer view of #1 (in color) a few days ago. I think the white along ridgetop is either frost or just the way the sun was hitting the grasses.

The others have been previously posted in color.

Nik Silver Efex. Thanks for viewing!

Wonderful shots!

I think you did a commendable job seeing what equipment you had. :-) Thanks for sharing them with us. Cheers.

I was very disappointed in subject matter to choose from. I had my Canon for the monkeys, but not much opportunity to take any photos! :-(

I like the monkey shots very much! Sounds like a super-memorable trip.

A few were ok, but I had had high hopes of lots of wildlife to photograph on the trip.

My Niece just spent 6 months in Costa Rica and returned TODAY!!! I bought her a Nikon to take with her so I am anxious to see her images.

I would have been happier in the rain forest area. Our resort was on a beach, yes nice, but sooo far from anything.

Took a little trip to Costa Rica. Did not have much luck with photos unfortunately. Did have a National Geographic moment watching the sea turtles laying their eggs at night. Not great photos I know, just taken with a little point & shoot as I was afraid to bother them too much.
Also, the Spider monkeys & Howler monkeys were very difficult to get a good photo of as they were very high in the trees with light backgrounds! Oh well, it was still fun to see them. 7 photos total.

While waiting for an Eagle to make an appearance (I photograph anything that's interesting), I took these shots of Gulls diving for fish. They were about 125 to 150 feet in distance and I shot them at 600mm.

Like the first & last best. The water in #1 sort of looks like glass.. I don't know but I like it!

Wednesday was a gray, frigid day - which was forgotten once I spotted this beautiful golden eagle - only the third time I've seen one!

Swan and goose photo'd with Canon T3i, Sigma 18-250 mm. The others with Canon SX50, HQ burst mode.

Thanks for viewing!

Every camera has a learning curve. No matter how many pictures you've taken in the past, when you've recently acquired a new camera it's important to try new settings. New technology produces different results than from cameras a generation older. Without taking the time to try them you'll never discover how much has changed from your previous 'wonder box.'
The following six are from that test session.

Great shots, I really like the branches they are on, much more interesting than what we have around!
