Sometimes the drama of a simple image turned to black & white makes a great statement plus a bit of painting in a bit color for emphasis.

Great picture, love the rain drops..

And another great choice, Val. I don't know which version I like the best as they're all lovely. So glad you like the program.

Please do let me know, Val. I don't think the 'spatters' were too popular, and I thought I was stuck with them. :-D Do you have Topaz Detail? I found that the detail sliders work well to emphasize the texture as a finishing touch, but that could probably be done within the program as well.

Hi Donna had a quick look and I think it is the Spill slider, if it is to the right there are more marks and less or none when it is to the left. Hope it works on your rose, look forwards to seeing it again if it does. I do not have topaz detail yet but hope to have it soon.

Sunset I said about in the PM...

I love it, Val! You couldn't have picked a better image for this effect. Did you use one of the presets? Watercolor? If I didn't already have the program, this one would sell it for me.

Thanks Donna so glad you like it. I did use a preset it was not watercolour but think it was Van Gogh 2 and then I tweaked a lot with the brushes and the sliders till I thought it looked ok. It was your great rose that started it off and I found you can get rid of the white spots with moving one of the sliders but can't remember which one. Will go back in and find it and let you know... :D

I like this very much. I'm thinking of buying this program - this may have pushed me closer.

Thank you very much Coolcameragirl for comment and thumbup. I downloaded the trial last night but it would not work, just had red in all the work spaces. On looking in the user manual this was because the graphics card had to be updated, this I did this morning and now it works fine. Got 30 days trial but I think I will be buying it.....

The original shot is great and your different effects on it are fantastic...but that's always the case with your work my friend!!  Good job!!

Thank you very much Bob for the comment and thumbups. Just downloaded the trial last night and had to update my graphics card this morning. Only had a quick play on it but I can see that it could be a very good program as you can control how much of the effect you put on your picture. :D :D

Thank you for sharing your experience start. UHH may need to have a "Topaz" section. I have Impressions and yet to play much with it. Perhaps like some of the others in the Topaz family, I purchase with so-so enthusiasm and about 6 months later they revise... then revise again..etc. But, they never yet have charged for upgrades. Kudos that.

You are welcome dpullum, at least I have learnt how to update my graphics card  No charge for an upgrades is good. I have a slideshow program and you can upgrade free with in a year but you dip out if the upgrades come out 13 months later.
