Yes you are correct , there is a dip in the land in the dip there are some steps and an iron fence all the way round the perimeter, well spotted.

Hi I take it this was a reply to me :D if you hit quote reply then it comes up with the person you are answering... :D :D

Nice reworks Val...quite often in a shot like #1..they will let the hair fade right into the black background with no definite separation, since its B&W..a gradual fade away. Some light dodging and burning, at low percentage, could really make #1 pop!
You've got the eyes captured very well in all these shots..which is the most important part of portraits!

Hope we are remembering to ask permission to put a pic on someone elses topic..its a rule!

Thanks Bob for advice I will have a go and repost.. :D :D

Our oldest grandson and his team wore Pink socks and wrist bands as a show of support for breast cancers. Several of the boy's have family members who have battled this disease, I being one of them....it was very touching to see them so proudly wear the Pink for the ones they love! The games were pretty fun too! :-)

Very good and what a good idea. Hope you are ok now.....

This was taken at a local beauty spot in Sedgefield County Durham ,UK

Very nice, you can just see where there is a dip in the land, are there steps going down as there looks to be railings by the path up to the temple?

Good picture, I have not seen them before. In my book it says they are of the jelly discs family and called Green Wood Cup. I expect the name Green Elfcups is a local name and I think is a more interesting name.

Great start Val...I'm really partial to #1...but all very good!...2 and 3 might need a little more pop, such as saturation!

Thanks Bob for looking and commenting. I like one as I was trying to get a picture where half is in shadow to make it dark and mysterious , still need a lot of trying I think. I have added two more which I have used smart photo editor. :D

Hi Nanaval

I like the lighting and the composition of these shots, however there re two things that standout for me.

First, I would like to see a separation from the background. In all three photos, the subject's hair fades into the background.

The second issue is the mood. You have basically shot low key photos. The serious look in the first photo matches that. The smiles (which are great smiles) present a mood that does not match with the low key photo.

Dennis

Thank you Dennis for your comments and I appreciate them. I have added a picture I have altered since reading your reply.

So...I'm doing this one up, just an average sunset at the beach, some nice color tones, but ultimately nothing to write home about. I was on the edge of discarding this. UNTIL I SAW IT.

You know what I'm talking about--that's right--you see it too, don't you?

And it gets worse.

I pulled up the original. The number of the file ends in (I'm not kidding!) 666, the number of the Beast.

Coincidence, you say? Okay, maybe. It's possible. It could just be a silly trick of the light.

Or did I get a shot of the Beast summering in Maine? And if so, was he just there on vacation, or is it something more? Are the End Times upon us?

Ooooooooooohhh!!!

Halloween is creeping up on us, and I'd say Trick or Treat, but truthfully, I'm a little worried. Anybody know a good exorcist?
So...I'm doing this one up, just an average sunset... (show quote)

Here's a photo of my daughter. Nikon d3200. 85mm manual lens, f1.8 1/200 ISO 100. Edited with MCP presets and actions, autumn equinox in Photoshop. Also added a medium vignette. By the way I love presets and these are really great. Anything else I could do to make it better.

I like the background very much, pretty girl but just a bit soft on the focus. I think she would look better on the grass and not the blanket....

I love these portraits. They have no contrasting shadows yet are not flat and are alive with their personalities.

Thank you very much for your great comment, this is the first time I used a reflector with them. It was a large gold side and they held it. I tried to get them so they were not flat so your comment is a great boost for me..
