Forgot to say that for fill flash, you need to set for the ambient light and set the flash accordi fly below
It's in the book!

Read your manual! I.too. have and love my D7100. First, your highest flash sync shutter speed is 1/250. Your aperture depends mostly on the distance to subject and desired depth of field. Use the shutter to control the ambient light and then be guided by your meter. It's all in the manual! Good luck!

My suggestion also...dropbox or Google photos...or bow about a DVD instead of a thumb drive
You all make it so complicated!

I thought I replied earlier but I don't see it, and I'm sorry if this is a repeat...
Anyway, I'm a Realtor and amateur photographer and take my own pictures for the MIX.
I use ambient light with or without flash, depending on the shot. The combo is especially important when shooting the view from inside the apartment. You set your aperture for the flash distance (not TTL) and set your shutter to sync with the meter for the outside.
You can choose whatever iso works best for the situation. Be sure the shutter is the proper sync for your camera. There can be so many tricky situations, especially bathrooms and kitchens...and mirrors! I think It's a challenge, esecially if you have to limit your equipment to a camera ( with an 18-140 zoom...D7100) and Sb800 flash....So pick the settings that work best for you! And try different combos!

Since I'm a Realtor and amateur photographer, I love taking my own pictures for the MLX! I would never think of using just one setting. Each apartment (or house) is very different, as well as the ambient lighting and views, and in most cases, those views are the most important feature. We have some great ones here in the condos in Aventura, Florida. But, first, I just use the ambient light indoors, and adjust the iso accordingly. The biggest challenge is getting the view into the apartment....through the windows and/or sliding glass doors. This is where you need to combine settings for the outdoors, with the flash aperture (I usually bounce) for the indoor section. First, check your distance for the correct aperture for the indoor flash, then synchronize with the outdoor setting for the appropriate shutter speed. Remember, that you can't go higher than your camera's sync, usually 1/200 or 1/250 (I have the D7100 and SB800 flash). You really need to jiggle around sometimes and so I take lots of shots. Also, you have to be careful of all the glass and mirrors with the flash...and glare. Thank goodness, now that I've switched to PSE18, removing those dots is no problem! So, I don't think one setting works for all, when shooting Real Estate. Good luck!

If you use BBFI don't think holdi g the shutter button halfway is necessary
It's for locking focus. It can lock the meter if set to do so but not necessary if on manual or AElock.

If you're shooting in manual and you set your aperture and shutter to jibe with the meter, they will be locked in that setting
No need for the AE-lock
If you are using Auto or AP or SP, that is when you use the lock feature!

Read your manual! ...and use manual! Or..set up your AE lock (if your camera has that feature). But be carecful...your center will be perfect but the rest will be over or under exposed.
Again. Read your manual...over and over!
Good luck!

In PSE18, you have the option to 'sort order,' after which you can designate the album. Then you can send the album in your preferred order to a folder, which can then be sent via Google or Dropbox, etc.to your friends.
Hope this helps! Picassa keeps the pics in the same order as the camera, but PSE18 reverses the order! It's a numbers game!

Replying again to fellow Picassa lovers! Same question re direct emailing, and uploading to Google.....Easy answer! You can't do it directly anymore....BUT....First export your Picassa photos or albums (preferably original size) to a folder.
If you prefer Google, you must then go directly to Google Photos. In the upper right side, there is an upload arrow (in a little cloud...pointing up). Click...Browse to your folder and...voila...your pix will slowly appear in Google Photos! And, once again, you're back in business! Once you have a folder, you can go to Dropbox or any of the others that give you a link or direct email.
As for organization with the name and/or face recognition....I switched from Picassa to Photoshop Elements 2018...one time charge of $70. You can sort by name, face, date, etc., etc.! The basic editing is similar to Picassa, but you can do so much more, if you desire.
I shared your frustration but all is not lost!
Enjoy!

I have used Picassa for years and am now switching to Phtoshop
Export your Picassa album to a file folder...Once there they can be uploaded (even original size) to Google Photos, Dropbox, and probably more. Both Google and Dropbox make links to attach to email. I like Gmail best for photos..
I, too, miss Picassa, and am struggling with PS, but you can do so much more!
