Thank You, I have an 8gb card so that should do for now. Boy this is sure different than when I was taking film pictures with my old Minolta SLR, but it looks to be more fun!
My camera is a Canon PowerShot S5 IS and my choices for recording pixels go from 3264 X 2248 to 640 X 480
My compression choices are Super Fine, Fine, and Normal
I think I understand that the pixel number is a direct relation to the size of the picture, more pixels = larger picture. Is this the same as the compression setting?
My camera has 6 pixel settings and 3 compression settings.
Can anyone help me understand this?
Thank You
Hello everyone:
My name is Phil, I am retired and live on my small farm in the Ozarks. I raise bottle calves from the milk from my Jersey milk cow for a little extra money.
Years ago I did some amateur photography and enjoyed it, so I thought I would start again for taking pictures of my grandkids, dogs, and various critters that inhabit my place.
I just purchased a Canon PowerShot S5 IS, and am I lost! This is a far cry from my Minolta SRT 102. I am hoping that I will live long enough to learn to use this new camera.
I ran across your site, and besides being totally humbled by what I saw and read, I am captivated by your knowledge, art, and craftsmanship. I fear that I wont have much to contribute, but will treasure the wisdom and knowledge I find on this site.
Thank you to all of you for your comments, humor, and sense of community.
