Hi,

Fantastic shots, not to mention the discipline and patience to obtain these rare shots.

I lived in Miami from 61 to 93, now just North of Tampa.

This for sharing those rare shots, outstanding.

I have the Nikon D-5000 and purchased the Tamron 18-270mm lens and love it...I agree on lens creep. When carrying one must put the lens lock on to prevent lens for creeping out and snagging on something.

I am relative new to Photography, so my experience is on the Minolta 28-85 Lens on my Maxxum 7000 Film Camera and the 18-55mm kit lens for the D-5000.

The best in your venture to find the correct lens for your use.

Hi,

Yes, amazing how wildlife adapts in spite of us, We relocated from Miami to Vero Beach to New Port Richey, due to job transfer, then retirement and moving here to be near grandchildren. Our present location is near the 12,000 acre woodland preserve 'Starkey Park in Pasco County, Fla., in spite of our community, we regularly have nightly deer, raccoon, owls , etc roam our back yards. The very small pond as depicted in the photos amazes me due to its location surrounded by busy streets, a mall and condo complex.

I use to fish the Flamingo area and did a few Canoe trips in the Everglades, in spite of the mosquitoes..ha ha.

Hi,

Thanks for asking, I am very new in my interest of Photography just finished a Digital Camera Class and Photoshop at a local Camera Shop. Learned a lot now to put into practice.

I was standing on the sidewalk taking photo thru a fence that protects the pond. I was approximately 300 feet away on the west side of pond, to the east about 600 or 700 feet is a four story Condo (will post another photo showing condo), to the
north about 600 feet is the mall and to the south about 800ft
is a street Embassy. Thus this little pond is tucked in between
all of this commerce and traffic. Yet for some reason it attracts this rare species of birds. I often wonder how they obtain enough food source to maintain their existence with in a high human populated area.

Hope this helps with your question, Thanks for asking.

Outstanding - who would want better results - something to be very proud of, looking to hone my photography skills to that level.

Hi,

I am new to the forum and to Photography for that matter, a little over a year ago. I purchased the Nikon D-5000 with the kit 18-55mm lens. Recently I took a Digital Camera class and Photoshop course at a local camera shop and then purchased the Tamron 18-270mm lens for my Nikon D-5000.

Granted I know little about Cameras and Photography, but the D-5000 for my use is a fantastic camera with the Tamron lens.
