I've been seeing notices from JCP that they made it out of bankruptcy and are back up and running. Our store never did close. Frankly, I haven't been in it for decades, as they are out of my price bracket. I really miss their catalog!

Lovely walk, Mike. Thanks for taking us along. We're getting some strange stuff falling from the skies. Not sure what it is, but it's sort of nice.

I have to say that at the beginning, I was also very skeptical and held back for what I thought was a long time, but by about 2006 I made the leap, kept both systems going for a while and eventually saw the benefits of digital - immediate feedback and essentially much less waste and cost, so I dropped the film cameras totally in about 2008, but I really only started working on processing my photos in 2011 - actually sort of forced on me: I was on a trip down to Costa Rica and promised some of the other tour members to let them see my pictures - so I was pretty much forced to figure this out and that was the first album I ever worked on digitally. I eventually went back and did a few minor albums for 2010, but would have a lot more to do for 2010 and back to 2006 or whatever that first year was. But I vowed to keep going chronologically forward to cover all material - and I am about 4 years and 80,000 pictures in arrears - tough life! Have a good evening - Joe

BTW, I still have one old Bronica medium format camera with a couple of lenses with which I shot a grand total of about 4 or 5 films, it looks practically new but I wouldn't know whether it still works - I should really try to get rid of it, am not really interested in the money but it would make sense to see if someone could use this set - I have been mulling this over for more than 10 years now but never found the time or courage to initiate the step. If you know anybody that would be interested, pls let me know.

The Bronica is the camera I always wanted - until Pentax came out with their auto-focus one! I ended up with a Mamiya 67 because it was available and I had the $$ to buy it. As luck would have it, the fellow selling it lives only a few miles from me, so I could simply drive over and pick it up! If you do decide to get rid of your Bronica, let me know the particulars on it, OK?

The times sure have changed then Kathy, but that would mean that you stuck to film until very recently?

Actually, I've moved slowly to digital and still have film cameras that I love and even a medium format camera that I use seldom. Have to admit, though, that my current go-to-camera is a digi.

You are very welcome - just one word of explanation: These pictures were taken in 2013, when I was still shooting with a cropped sensor camera in jpeg and did very limited processing on Picasa, not including tilt or perspective corrections, so some of the pictures, while showing you the places, will technically be lacking a bit. Hope you can enjoy them anyway. Joe

My pictures would have been on film, and that was pre-35mm days for me!

Thank you very much Kathy. I am with you, we also enjoy Spain a great deal, interestingly it wasn't actually in our plans for this year as I said in the intro, but it was a great back-up choice. A bit later on, I will have another couple of pictures of Spain from an earlier trip. If ever you want to revisit Spain virtually, I do have 2 albums on Spain, and another one on Portugal on my website: visit www.weberwest.weebly.com, then click on the geographical tab on top, then scoot down to Europe / West / Mediterranean and Northern and you might find some familiar vistas. Have a great day - Joe

The colours in the boulder are beautiful, so actually, I think I prefer the colour image (I know - you didn't ask for our preferences). But the B&W really brings out the lines in the boulder, and that's beautiful also. I don't think I'd go as dark as Bob's, but I would take the exposure down and the contrast up just to delineate them even more.

Nicely done. And not a shell mark on the entire building? That's pretty rare.

Love the tree and the view beyond is really nice. I assume this is focus-stacked? Such clarity in the hills.

These are all beautiful. I particularly enjoy the images of Spain. I did so enjoy visiting that country, and, unfortunately, all of my negs from there have been lost.

That's one gorgeous birdhouse! Nicely done. The bison shots are great. Why are people so stupid as to even attempt to get close. Do they not know how dangerous they are? Or is it just the old "it won't happen to me" syndrome?
