Great shots. I love the one that says "Betcha can't stand on your head like this"... "Sure can, watch this!"

Good one! You think like I do. I am always putting words to my images!

Thank you for the kind words and for the interesting story. The squirrels actually access the feeder from branches on a nearby bush. However, I don't mind because they don't do it often, and they make interesting photographic studies.

Yup, that was the only downside. Our squirrels also used the tree above and bypassed going up the pole. They are smart and comical little creatures!

It was an interesting day today with my photography. The grey cat I have posted here has now begun to follow me. While I love this, it concerns me. To get to the squirrels I work with, they are located on the other side, which means I am crossing a road with traffic. While I tried everything I could to keep him on the other side, he was determined, and we made it over to the other side. Here comes the problem. My squirrels are ready to "work," and he is ready to be a cat! Finally encouraged the squirrel to stay up in the trees, and with much encouragement, I got Mr. Grey back over to the other side and made it back to the squirrels. Talk about a conflict of interest.

So, in the end, when I was ready to wrap it up, I spotted one of my favorite squirrels, which I have nicknamed Dropster. I named him this as instead of the typical upright pose squirrels will do, he drops down. He also loves to assume this position on the rocks and steps and will seriously work the camera! I spotted him and thought I would work with him, and then I realized that he had a playmate. Seeing the one image. I think the other squirrel I have named Somersault might have been the playmate. He enjoys doing this movement, and I have a few shots of him practicing this move. So I stepped back, and they gave me a show. I haven't done anything with these shots except for basic cropping and a bit of contrast. I will also say that I can't show the entire series, and will leave it to your imagination! I think I will also have to rename Dropster, as he appears to be a she. It was definitely an interesting experience, and they appeared to both have a great time! I think the one squirrel is smiling!

Hope you enjoy!

Instead of a fox in the hen house, I had a squirrel in the bird feeder.

I love it! What a great shot. When I was growing up, we had a feeder outside, and it was a running battle to keep it filled. My dad worked in sheet metal manufacturing and got so fed up that he designed a cone to stop the squirrels from going up the pole. It worked! Sadly he never did anything with the idea, and now I see his design being sold online. Look up squirrel guard on Amazon. I suspect you will have a new series of images with them trying to defeat it.

I just put up the same suet feeder, but I am on the 3rd floor, so no squirrels yet.

Thanks for sharing this with us!

Good images BAchme. Now that you know where it is located you could always go back and photograph again at a slower pace.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think I'd like to do that, just will need to alert someone that I am going there so I feel safe.

those folk are REALLY resting in peace. what a beautiful place. THANKS!

Never thought of that. Some are on, some shaking ground. Just sad to see that there is no one left to care for it. When I see my friend, I may ask if he wants to explore as one member has suggested and restore it. He's bored with retirement, so this might be something he might enjoy.

Thanks for liking this. I never know what I should share, especially since my focus is on my squirrels right now.

Interesting. I love the hopefully unintended pun--did some digging (in a graveyard).

Yup, that's the writer in me, who sometimes wants to come out to have fun!

In the top photo, all the tombstones are leaning in the same direction.

Yes, you are right. Being serious here, though, wouldn't the weight pull them forward? I know NOTHING about this sort of stuff, but the ground has to erode under it to support it. YIKES, I just went down a rabbit hole!!!!!

Interesting

Well, I could interpret this in a number of ways. So best to ask. Witty comment or something to learn?

I like your cemetery photos a lot. Tombstones can be an excellent source of photo opportunities as well as looking into the lives of the inhabitants. Good job.

Thanks for that. The feedback I find is helping me move forward. It was neat to explore online.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I don't do well with this type of photography and especially with an audience, so it's amazing I had anything!

Since retiring in evil TX , joint a group that clean and restore old abandon cemeteries . Been doing that for over 3 yrs now . You could do miracles there , mowing , removing weeds , sapless , dead trees .Then you repair / clean / level / epoxy the stones .When you are done , the place look great .After that mow twice a year . Time to put a group of volunteers together.

Wow, that's really neat! Would you share some of the details? I'm not retired yet, but I could get involved, and that gentleman I spoke of is retired. He just made a comment that he thought retirement would be better, but there's nothing to do. Something to definitely think about! I like the idea of preserving history, respecting the past.

Thanks for sharing and more for caring!

Just realized the last photo is a duplicate! Didn’t think it attached first time. Note to self: don’t post late at night!
