I wonder if the OP's lack of response answers that question?

Lack of response due to having so much to do after being gone for 27 days and having many images to work on! I'm surprised more people don't see the same type of batteries not working in both cameras as bad for consumers and that "Nikon" batteries being the solution. In this day and age of environmentalism doesn't bother others that batteries are so proprietary when any battery of specified volts and amperage should work in the same type of camera?

14 Nikon batteries at $60 a whack comes to $840. Proprietary batteries are a rip off not to mention bad for the environment for all the duplication necessary for nothing but greed! What I meant to say not unreasonable batteries, SHOULD be compatible!

On a float trip down the Grand Canyon?

Yeah my 10th river trip in the Canyon and this time I guided a 14 foot paddle raft with a crew of 3 plus myself for 23 days, it was a hoot!

As for the batteries, they are an assortment of mostly 3rd party and all worked with a D810 and after testing 6 out of 14 batteries don't work in the D850.

I don't think it's unreasonable that the batteries shouldn't be interchangeable and honestly think battery situation with modern cameras is a rip off. All these batteries that are not interchangeable is a waste of resources and bad for the environment!

Recently returned from my 10th river trip in the Grand Canyon. 3 or 4 days into the trip I changed the battery in Nikon D850 and happy it lasted so long only to discover that I went though half the batteries I brought (14) before I could find one that had a charge. This despite charging all the batteries before the trip and having no problem using them with a Nikon D810 body. I now found myself with the prospect I might not have enough batteries for the whole 23 day trip! I was able to nurse the batteries almost to the end of the trip, but I did discover the batteries that didn't work with the D850 did work with my spare D810 so I never ran out of batteries. It never occurred to me that only some batteries would work with the camera and to think it could have been a disaster!

We use less electricity than you (around 400 kWh or less) and not considered best, but at least not bad!

I've used Macs since 1993 with Quadra 950 and now use a Mac Pro 2012 with 12 cores running at 3.46ghz. Back then for image editing there wasn't any choice. My first computer was an Epson III back in 1980's when I opened my first studio, even with Windows no comparison for ease of use with Apple software. As far as which is faster, it depends how the computer is set up. Mac Pro at 7 years old is no slouch but real speed up is using SSD's and Raid 0 because any time are using scratch disks or opening programs or saving large files is where you can actually notice a difference. Boot drive is 2- 500GB SSD's with Sonnet PCI-E card, reads/writes 900mbs. Images saved to 4- 2GB hard drives with Raid 0 configuration read/writes 400mbs with backups on external drives. More important to me isn't how fast my computer is, it's easy of use and having used both systems Macs are much more intuitive in use enabling me to spend more time making images instead messing around with the computer.

A letter from a copywriter lawyer may cost about $250 and worth a phone call. I would contact the infringer and tell them they don't have any rights to use and will see them in our if they continue.

I bought my first Gitzo in 1976 and acquired several over the years but their service sucks. Several years ago I bought a Sirui w 2204 and with a K30X head which I believe would be good for you. It's the easiest tripod I've used and the only one that hasn't gotten jammed up on river trips in the Grand Canyon! I still have the Gitzo tripods but don't use them the Sirui is so good!

Same reason color in sunsets, light being absorbed in upper atmosphere with long waves passing through. Later in the night color becomes more neutral.

I've had a Sirui W 2204 tripod for several years now, is light, and it's the easiest to work and trouble free. After having numerous Gitzo tripods over the years and having terrible service I decided to try Sirui and very satisfied. Sirui is the only tripod that hasn't jammed up on river trips in the Grand Canyon.

All pixels are not created equally. When zooming to 100% there ares differences in resolution from different sensors.

I've been using Sirui Tripods for several years now and very easy to use. For many years I was a Gitzo fan, but they have become very expensive and the distributor for them is sub par and have had numerous issues with service. Sirui is the first tripod I've owned that hasn't become jammed on river trips in the Grand Canyon! I'd say a Sirui R5214XL Carbon Fiber is applicable for your application.

I am looking to purchase a tripod to use for photographing birds and other wildlife. I have a Nikon 7500 and a Sigma 150-600mm and 1.4 TC for this purpose, as well as other lenses. I currently use a Benro GH2 gimbal head mounted on a Manfrotto tripod that I have found is not sturdy enough for my purpose.
I am considering a Gitzo 4543LS Systematic Series 4 as a replacement. Any thought as to whether it would be a good choice? I appreciate the help.

Both are amazing places, but if you haven't been to Canyon de Chelly I'd say it's time. Besides the road turnoffs you can walk down to White House Ruins. I recommend hiring a guide to explore in the canyon and there is a place nearby called 3 Turkey Ruins, see if you can get a tour there, it's amazing!
