We see here a happy young lady. A rather simple image.

The colorizing really brings this girl's face to life.

We have here a colorized image of the young lady in a cave.

This one really grabbed me. I think your colorizing is improving with every post. I see improvement in the water and waves and even the beach sand as well as the skin tones of the girls. I enjoy seeing your b&w photos colorized, and look forward to more.

Viewing this on my phone where I can rock back n forth between the colorized and b&w images to compare details, some spots are more prominent in the colorized and other spots are more prominent in the b&w. I don't know why. The skin tones are very smooth in their translations. But where the light is entering the cave, both images take on a posterized effect. This is what my semi trained eye sees.

You probably know way more about pp than I do, so take the next with a grain of salt.

A member of my photography club has been attempting to teach us Light Room and Photo Shop via Zoom, a little beach week. I am learning, but by no means an expert. From what I have learned, one thing I'm wondering that might make a difference would be to apply a gradient ND filter from the light source toward the model. And maybe applying a mask to the darker areas above and below so they won't be effected by the ND filter. I don't know if it would help reduce the posterizing, if that was caused by the bright light, but maybe give it a try.

A tree in Poverty Flats, shot and processed in the manner of Spanish photographer Pep Ventosa.

Twenty-eight separate exposures, shot at three step intervals from a circular path around the 'subject' (the isolated tree), then processed as a stack using decreased layer transparency levels, a variety of blending modes, and sundry other tweaks based on little more than 'what looked good at the time.'

The point is not to portray an actual 'reality'. The point is to present a heightened, Impressionistic kind of reality. And the challenge involved in doing so is fun, too.Β

Ouch! I think my brain just snapped!
Sorry, my brain is to rooted in reality. I followed the 28 photos from the circular path. Stacked photo of the tree, okay. From there you totally lost me in all the processing. I'm glad you're having fun. And I will continue to follow and appreciate all your work (or play). I always study the color and light and composition in your posts. I'm always trying to learn, and you always provide a lot to learn.

The one thing I have picked up on in all these discussions is, if you buy a third party battery, buy the same brand charger. Charge a Canon battery with a Canon charger. Charge a Wasabi battery with a Wasabi charger. The third party battery I bought when I forgot my Canon battery seems to be having problems after being charged in the Canon charger. A number of others have express the same thing.

Let the flogging begin!

We have here another image of the lass in #11.

I've been one of those quiet followers of your work for a long time. I have learned a lot about light and shadows by studying your posts. I've been really impressed with your colorizing efforts, especially #11. But #11+1 is so much smoother, natural.

A fan!

I fell last week and broke my upper left arm. it has been quite painful. I can't type. I can still look at all your beautiful pictures.

Is there no digest today? Has anyone heard from Regis? I've been missing his eagle portraits.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Ouch!!
Nice Christmas present to yourself. Not!

I broke my right wrist (right handed of course) when I fell in 2010. I feel your pain. Didn't realize all the soft tissue damage that was done to my shoulder, rib cage, and gut till 2019. Medical doctors don't seem to care about your skeletal muscles. Do your self a favor and find a good massage therapist to loosen up all those muscles that took all that shock.

Hoping you have great success in healing.

How long have you been involved in digital Photography?

Full-frame cameras are large and heavy, whether they have a mirror inside or not.

Full-frame lenses are large and heavy too, especially when:

a, They include the technology needed for VR - Vibration Reduction.

b, They include the technology needed for AF - Autofocus.

c, They have large maximum apertures, requiring immense front-end pieces of glass.
