I am just an amateur in photography. I have not posted any pictures here, but I look everyday to see what is new. I have learned a lot. I, for one, appreciate any tips like the one shown here. My work with wildlife makes it difficult to find time to do much photography. The reason I have not posted is comments like the incredibly childish one here today. As I move on in life I find I simply have no time for that kind of behavior. As for the rest, I hope all of you continue to post and share your talent. There are many wonderful photographers here so I will continue to look and learn.

The RWBB was attempting to drive the heron away. The herons will eat the chicks right from the nest if they see them.

I am a wildlife rehaber in another state. Contact a local rehaber to see if they are permitted to rehab fox in your state before trying to trap him. As for treating him I would go with the brevecto. Ivermectin is dangerous when too much is used. It will cause central nervous system damage. It would be very hard to actually treat the mange with it. The treatment must be done every day for months. You can not guarantee the fox will be there every day. I have treated 3 fox kits with brevecto this last year. One dose gets amazing results. The best would be to get at least two doses in but that can not be guaranteed. Left untreated this little guy will die a slow and terrible death. I am quite happy that you are going to try to help.

As a wildlife rehaber I am always happy to see when this is done. I have done it several times. These guys do not do well when raised in captivity. Kudos to the people that went the extra mile to keep this chick where it belonged!

I go to bed each night after carefully checking the fire maps. I work with wildlife and have the best plans I can come up with for the animals I have for the winter. It could get a little scary.

I live in Tennessee. We are having fires everywhere. My shots were quite orange until the moon was higher. The smoke is the reason for the color here. It has also affected the sunrise and sunsets. The smoke has been much like fog all day long in many places.

Also, don't give up if you do not get an immediate response. Most of us Work a full time job as well. We do not get paid anything for our work. We do this out of our pockets. If you look up the list today you can most likely reach a rehaber today.

Google your state wildlife agency. They will have a list of rehabers on their web site by county.

The people you need to contact are the wildlife rehibilitators in your county. Look on the state wildlife agency site for a list. You may live in an area that requires a rabies vector permit to rehab a fox. This animal absolutely has mange. Without help it will die. Please continue to feed it until you can contact help. It needs all the nourishment it can get. It will be a long term commitment for the rehaber as it will take a year. I am a licensed rehibilitator in my state. Please contact me if you need any additional information.

I am a wildlife rehaber. You will have these in your state. Contact your state wildlife agency to find them. They are usually listed on their web site. This fox does indeed have mange. I have treated several with good results but it is a long term commitment. This fox will die if not treated. You will need to find a rehabilitator that has a rabies vector permit. Please attempt to contact ASAP as I feel this poor animal will not last much longer. I am happy to answer any questions if you need more information.
