The staff at the International Crane Foundation would rather not have the locations revealed publicly. I have been watching three for a few years now. They reluctantly acknowledged their presence, said there were more around but declined giving out the locations. Their movements and locations are monitored by the Gps and radios the cranes wear.
It’s better for the Cranes if they are not disturbed by hoards of spectators who may deliberately do something to enable a better photo op. There comeback is a wonderful successful story facilitated by years of dedication.
Check out the International Crane Foundation’s website.

Thanks for the remind!
Not just for Whooping cranes, for any birds I take photos, I have tried very best not to bother them. For the photos shared here, a group of four people (we do not know each other) all are pretty far and behind trees. Actually, the cranes were moving slowly towards us. This is the first time we have had such luck among many visits. For pelicans, we almost crawled to the area close for photos.
Thanks!

Super! They weren’t there yet in mid-Feb, unfortunately. There were lots of Snow Geese and a sizable number of Sand Hills. Where were you at GP?
Thanks again for the shots.

Hello Bill,

Please see the attached map for where I saw them on the day before yesterday.

Thanks!

Richard

I went to Goose Pond, southern Indiana yesterday and saw three Whooping cranes, two adults and one juvenile. I have visited Goose Pond in the weekends of the last four weeks and saw the whooping cranes every time. But this time, they are much closer than any other time and therefore easier photos. Luckily, I could take some dancing photos. Thanks in advance for your viewing and comments if there is any.
Thanks!

Went to Goose Pond in Linton, IN yesterday and took a lot of photos of Pelicans. These photos were taken at GP5 N. These are a few of them in pairs. Thank you all in advance for viewing and any comment you may have.

Very nice. Thanks. Was there several weeks ago for the cranes and geese. What section were the pelicans on? Goose Pond or part or Beehunter Marsh? Thanks again.

Thanks! I went to Goose Pond. On Feb. 27, they were in GP9 and on March 5, they were in E4. At least these are the locations that I saw. The map for Goose Pond with two locations marked is attached here for your reference.
Thanks!

Great photos. Coincidently my wife and I were photographing white pelicans yesterday at the Merritt Island Refuge in Titusville, Fl. Alas, it’s getting near the time they will leave us.

Thanks! Same here, they will leave mostly before the end of this month.
