Thanks, I see the S is out already at 1500 GBP, waiting for some reviews on it. Price wise I can justify the C and hopefully come in around the Tamron price.

Hopefully the new Sigma's will be more readily available than the Tamron 150-600... which is still experiencing distribution problems. Also still waiting for the Sigma 150-600mm C release price, which hopefully comes in line with the Tamron.

My dilemma is to either wait for the new Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary or purchase the existing 150-500mm. Will the new lens be worth the wait over current deals (currently retailing for 630 GBP) Also of course the Tamron 150-600mm is an option but 950 GBP.
I will be pairing with Canon 5D MK3, and using the lens for predominately sports/action for local Rugby club.

Shame, it is a fabulous place and you can feel the history.... I did 7 years in Germany with the Royal Air Force and like you didn't travel as much as I should have....
