I use the 105G f2.8 for portraits and still life such as room boxes for my girl friend it is a great lens for portraits.
I have been using a 7100 since they where released never had any focusing problems. It produces outstanding photos. Love it.
Nikon 105mm f2.8 macro it's excellent for as portrait lens and also gives you the ability for macro.
My favorite zoom lens is a Nikon 70 - 300 VR it is on the D7100 most of the time.
Favorite primes are Nikon 50mm f1.4 and Nikon 105mm.
I carry 2 and 4 ND filters and a polarizer. From everything I have read I would avoid adjustable ND filter they seem to cause more problems than they are worth.
Ah!!!!!!!!!! Minolta lens true quality. I still have a cabinet full of them from film days.
I use my left eye. I right handed.
You really hit the nail on the head. Great thoughts!!!!
I never purchase an extended warranty for anything. I have used the manufactures warranty once in 40 years of photography. I consider them a waste of money.
You cannot beat them. Their staff is aces with me. I really want go to NY to see their store. Just need to find time.
Great, you had me. The bank made it be leave able.
I have shot for over 30 years. The only lens that I have ever had damaged was when I laid a camera down on a table during and event and it was knocked off the table on to a concrete floor. The lens ring was bent along with the filter ring. Since then I have never used filters except in dusty or where sea spray may contact the front element and then it is a Nikon clear glass filter.
My go to lens is the 70-300MM on my 7100. It is my carry kit.
I prefer prim lens but I recently spent some time with a professional photographer which uses zooms for photo journalism. He deals in mainly wildlife and landscape photography. His go to lens was a 24-70MM 2.8, he also carries a 14-24MM 2.8, along with 105 Macro and several others he carries in his field kit. The time I spent with him as made me reconsider the use of and quality of todays zooms.
I prefer the fixed ND filters you can always stack them. I carry two NDX2 and NDX4 and a Polarizer this gives ND of 7. I always use the polarizer last and carry a filter wrench.
