17-35 is a must in the Oculus and for basic street. Then a longer lens for taking a ride on the Staten Island Ferry (this is a real good thing to do since it is free and will give you great shots of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty). Take a small shoulder bag with the 70-200, and use the 17-35 for most shots. Even at 35mm shots from the ferry would be show the skyline too small. Also a walk through Central Park will give you some good opportunities to use the longer lens. Take the D750 because you will not want the multiplication factor of the crop sensor in places like the reading room and the Oculus. If you have time, take a subway to Brooklyn and get off at the first stop. Walk up onto the Brooklyn Bridge and walk back into Lower Manhattan. It isn't a long walk from there to the Oculus and the 9/11 memorial.

Bridges, sincerely appreciate your kind advice...best...
Joseph, thanks for that great advice...I do have the Nikon 50m 1.8...the Sigma 50 is a tank...the Nikon will be easier to carry and use...best...
Thanks everyone for your input...the consensus seems to be: attached to the D750 will be the 17-35 and I will use the 50mm 1.4 lens in places such as the Rose Reading Room and take a monopod for lower light conditions...thanks for your great advice...and I will be aware of my surrounding...will post here on my return...
Bill...experience is a great teacher...thanks for your kind comment...
Thanks for the great and quick input...I think I have a good sense of what to use...
Have a chance to spend a day in NYC in the middle of September. Want to do some basic street photos, plus some iconic images such as Rose Reading Room, Oculus, etc. but mainly street scenes. What do you advise for a lens? Am considering the following, all Nikon: 28-300, 17-35, 70-200 and a Sigma ART 50mm 1.4 prime. Can be mounted to a D500 or D750. Thoughts? Thanks in advance for your input.
Beautiful work...my new knee kept me home...
Spectacular images, Paul. Are you going to the Air Show? I have a new knee so am sidelined for a bit. Would love to see your images, if you are there.
That was the original video tape recording system developed by MEI...VHS was in progress and Alex Stone convinced them to let Q launch the GTM...Roger and Tony managed the category...when I moved over to VHS, there were just some accessories to sell...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOiwnH2yPM0
No disparaging the Time Machine. I was at Quasar when we introduced "The Great Time Machine." Tape discs only weighed 12 pounds and were not available at retail. For several years (5-7) after VHS replaced VX customers would request locations where they could purchase tapes. We just mailed them several at no charge.
Beautiful set of images...looks like a fun time...
