I was wondering if anyone has adapted old, film-camera glass to more modern digital cameras? I have four (35, 50, 85, 135) Zeiss lenses for my old Contarex and am considering having them renovated and adapted to my Nikon D100 (and/or any more modern Nikon camera I may acquire). As you probably know, these old Contarex lenses need to be overhauled to replace the lubricant, else they will friction weld themselves into paperweights, and the overhaul ain’t cheap, so I want to be pretty sure before I commit the money that I’ll be pleased with the result. Anyone? Thanks!

Chamath Palihapitiya, one of the founding builders of Facebook, had this to say about what the behemoth is doing to society. Perhaps it applies to the Attic as well.

Palihapitiya says that our use of social media is becoming dangerous for society:

"The short-term, dopamine-driven feedback loops that we have created are destroying how society works. No civil discourse. No cooperation. Misinformation. Mist***h. And it's not an American problem. This is not about Russian ads. This is a global problem. So we are in a really bad state of affairs right now, in my opinion. It is eroding the core foundations of how people behave by and between each other."

Sitting by the window of her convent, Sister Barbara opened a letter from home one evening.
Inside the letter was a $100 bill her parents had sent.
Sister Barbara smiled at the gesture.
As she read the letter by the window, she noticed a shabbily dressed stranger leaning against the lamp post below.

"What's this?" she asked.
"That's the $8,000 you have coming Sister," he replied. "Don't Despair paid 80-to-1."

What about when the Romans invaded England. Centuries ago but the same thing when you think about it. The world was about conquests back then. The Muslims invaded a lot of Europe. They're still doing it. The Crusades were about driving the Muslims back. Have you ever studied world history? What about the Spaniards destroying the Aztec and Inca civilizations? Same old s**t. The Native Americans suffered an incredible injustice. But much of the world did the same centuries ago. The Egyptians made s***es of the Jews. Should we tear down the pyramids because they represent s***ery? You l*****t/liberal believers have a very narrow view of history. Pick and choose what you want to protest but never see the overall picture.

I h**e to try to bring reality into your little world but the "right" ARE the decent people. It's the lefty loony liberals that cause disharmony. The only thing the left knows is stirring up racial trouble and pushing socialist ideology in order to bring the country down. "Sanctuary cities" for criminal invaders? No problem. Open borders for goat humping Muslim terrorists? No problem. Look at how screwed up Europe has become with Socialism and taking in Muslim refugees. How many bombings and other k*****gs will it take to open your eyes? Maybe if your family becomes victims to these crazy Muslim attacks you'll see the light.
