Painterly & Photos of Cardinals, Bluejay & Starling in my backyard after the Snow here in West Chester, Ohio.

I thought it might be fun to add a little tail plumage on the Cardinal, also to see what he might look like as a Woodpecker and to see him being sucked into a Vortex.

An absolutely beautiful set! I admire your work and your sense of play.

Use Ai to create something that you might be able to use.
I asked it to create some backgrounds, blue, green yellow etc.
this was my favorite. Now Im open on how to use it.
Id LOVE to see what you can create using this

I played with it as a simple composite. It is one that can work with perched or flying subjects. Show us your eagle!

This sequence was captured Friday afternoon on a blustery blue-sky day in South Texas. The Osprey's prey turns out to be a Spadefish which is a bit unusual for our canal environment. The combination of this deep-bodied, hefty fish and really strong headwinds made the post-catch climb-out a real challenge for the Osprey. By the same token, these circumstances provided me with several seconds of shooting opportunity. I have selected representative shots which hopefully depict the action sequence and validate the species of the catch. Enjoy.

This gable end barn is in northern Madison County, Indiana, seemingly well taken care of and apparently converted to a garage and storage building.

This is the perfect treatment for this shot John, well done! Your barn photos are always a pleasure to view.

Posting for feedback really. I don't do a lot with textures or photoshop-type edits. The face image is with two textures applied, the bottom is the source image. My intent was to make the face have that "painterly" feel I see others doing. The source is from what I call one of my B-roll images. A nice image but one I would use to fill in space for stronger images when storytelling. I wanted to try some things with the B-roll to see if I could make them have more interest.

Is this type of edit worth doing? Does this type or art (for lack of a better word) sell?

This is attractive a fun, and yes worth doing...even with your A-roll images.

I saw a post yesterday on this, so I had to try it on this Marbled Godwit.

I like this very much neighbor. It is a very good shot that is well supported by this effect. Thanks for the link, something new to play with. Nice work!

I feel it needs more, a focal point or different composition of the birds? Help me out, please!

Original photo is #2. Added a Studio 2 filter, then duplicated that layer, stretched and moved slightly. Bird on post is my photo too, repeated and flipped. As always, blend modes are the magic that make these multiple layers possible.

I like everything I see here with no useful suggestions. Thanks for the workflow example. You have given me a push to move past my gumption trap of "gee that's three whole layers I just used; I better stop before something bad happens.......

Took this one from a plane window with 24-105 mm lens at f 4.0, hand held.

The download shows nice prop blur and good detail. You caught a workhorse at work. I'm with Linda re the background.

Hi,it is with great sadness that I have to inform the friends and fellow UHH members of Angler of his passing in the early hours of Monday 15th January 2024 after a short illness.
He enjoyed sharing his photos and appreciated all the comments he received.
On behalf of my Father I thank you all it brought him great pleasure.

Thank you, Glen. It is no surprise to note how many of us described Jim as a gentleman. We are diminished. Condolences to you and family.

I think one of the highest compliments a photographer can receive is for a fellow photographer to wish they had taken the image! Thank you so much...

It was an easy comment to make Tommy. It is a truly beautiful photo.

As I post this image this morning, it is currently -15° here with a windchill of -32. Getting a little chilly here in north western Montana. However, the cold and frost does have its own intrinsic beauty. Viewing this in download will give a better experience. Stay warm friends.

Occasionally I see a photo on UHH that I wish I had made, this is one Tommy! I love the way my eye travels between the barn and the beautiful colors of the frosty topped grass in the bottom left. Just wonderful,
