It would help if you could tell where and when the photo was taken.
Very nice, well taken. thanks for sharing.
When using Live View with the 7D Mark II and wanting to enlarge the focus point for better focusing you must not be in the autofocus flex zone {}flex zone. Not sure it this is the right symbol or not, it is the first one on the list. Then, and this is where I was going wrong, you use the magnify button on the left side of the camera, the same one you use when reviewing an image and want to enlarge it. I had kept using the same button as on the 80D. thanks for all of the comments.
Found the problem, or I should say user problem resolved. Had to make sure the camera was in the right auto focus zone, and instead of the *button as with the 80D you use the magnifing button. Thanks for all comments and suggestions.
I know that is what is supposed to happen, just not doing.
When I am using Live View with my 80D I can increase the magnification of the focus point to 5X or 10X for sharper focusing, but when I use the 7D Mark II even following the directions in the manual it will not increase the magnification, instead I get a message on the LCD saying this feature is not available as the setting. I have tried changing from auto to manual focus, as well as the auto focus choices. What I am trying to find how to do is be able to enlarge the focus area in live view on the 7D when using a macro lens.
Been struggling with my 7D when using Live View. For some reason I can not get the focus screen to enlarge for close up work. Followed manual and still only get that it is "not available using this setting", wish it would say what setting. I have tried several different settings with out results. Any help will be appreciated. I do not have this problem with my 80D.
Feral is the term for domestic animals that for one reason or another have returned to a wild state. No matter how long this situation exist they will always be feral animals. There is only one true wild horse left on the planet, that is the Mongolian wild horse. The wild horse that at one time was in what we now call The New World became extinct after humans arrive, maybe 10-12 thousand years ago.
Not true wild horses, but feral ones.
Good eye to spot this. Nice photo!
I think it is an eastern gray squirrel. I have seen them here in Illinois with a white tail, which as they grew older darkened.
Use your Canon 100-400 with a Canon 1.4x III, you will have almost the same range at 560mm.
Very nice! I like the expression on the owls face. Back ground colors set the owl off very well. But, would clone out the out of focus grass right behind its head.
I have both of those lenses. Both are good, I give overall quality to the Canon 70-300, but the Tamron 18-400 gives you a longer reach. I have found the Tamron at the wider settings is not sharp, unless you are reasonably close to your subject. I have tried it for landscapes on a tripod, and still do not get good sharpness under 50mm. Better gear can help you to become a better photographer if you grow with it. A lesson I have had to learn. Have a fun trip.
