1 & 2 not so much for the slow shutter, but the others are really nice.
Thanks so much for your encouragement. The first two were just location shots to set the stage for what I was shooting for my assignment. Do you have a favorite?
You folks are so great. I read all the comments and studied the links and some other materials. Here are the results of my second field trip. I'm getting closer. It's hard to judge your own work sometimes. Do any of you think one of these might be good enough to submit for the "slow shutter" assignment? Its a "merit" or "no merit" judging. The Nikon shots were all with my 18-140mm lens,1 or 2 ND1000 filters, 20 - 30 seconds, f/22-30.
Thanks again for all your help. Even if you don't think the pics are great, I think you'll agree all the help and encouragement is starting to pay off.
So, whadda you all think? The assignment is due by Monday, so I need to pick one or keep trying???

I'm finding all kinds of gems that I thought were pretty bland until I started learning Photoshop! I'm getting quite a collection for my Blurb project.
My camera club assignment this month is slow shutter images. I have never tried it. Not so easy! The first image is done by a local photographer...not me! It is representative of what I would like to achieve, but as you can see from a couple of examples (after heavy pp), I am not even close. Any tips?

Taken in the same spot as the example. Early morning light would seem to help.

I’m definitely going to have to try harder!

Hi all,
I capture these amazing sunrise pictures at South Point Miami Beach and I thought I would share with you.
Let me know what you think.
The second one is really dramatic!

Thinking of purchasing Nikon D7500 refurb. Camera from Adorama. Would this be wise? It's $277 cheaper with just a 90 day warrants. Please give me some suggestions folks.
Not to knock Adorama in any way, because they stand behind their products, but I bought a used Nikon D7200 which didn’t work right out of the box. I quickly exchanged it for a new one. Surprisingly, Walmart has amazing prices on new equipment. Check it out before you buy a used one.

I love Lake Tahoe (but I prefer the north shore). But either way, you captured the essence of some of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve witnessed anywhere. Nice job.

Excellent set love the Booby shot. Did you see them in the Galapagos? I had a table top book made of one of my travels and on Christmas Eve it fell out of the cardboard sleeve and broke my big toe! Beware.
OUCH! I’ll be careful. The booby image was taken on Isla Isabela in the Gulf of California. The island is fascinating, the rookery for Blue Footed Boobies and Frigate birds, as well as hundreds of Iguana. I spent many hours there marveling at the societal structure of the birds. If you’re interested, I’ve provided a link to the behavior of Blue Footed Boobies.
https://www.santacruzgalapagoscruise.com/galapagos-blue-footed-boobies/Siblicide is one of the more interesting aspects of their reproductive cycle and you’ll notice that one of the siblings is markedly smaller than the other.
I decided to give Blurb a try and see if I can't create a coffee table book with some of my accumulated images. I thought I'd share a few to see how you like them. Comments are always welcome. Thanks for looking, Dick
Now that’s something you don’t see everyday. Thanks for sharing this great set.
I’d love to see one of your moonshots with the 600 mm lens. Can you post one?
