Could you take some time to look at the images below and give me your opinion of their quality? I need know the good and especially the bad. I study a lot of pictures but when I comes to my own I'm not sure. So let me have it, let know what you all think.
The first image is my Granddaughter on her Dad's old Ford tractor. The sun was at an angle right behind me, bright as the dickens. I know it was an absolutely
terrible time to shoot that picture. When you're dealing with an 18 month old... Well you know what I mean. You gotta get what you can.
The second is The Newberry Opera House Entrance during Christmas.
I'd like to know how you feel technically and artistically about these images.
Thank you in advance for your time and expertice.
Phil

The first one will be a keeper in your family for years to come. I agree that there are no bad shots of grandkids. You didn't tell us your opinion of the technique and artistry of the pictures. Did you get what you wanted?

The lighting, backdrop and post processing for this onion is the same which I described in my Garlic Post http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-87657-1.html

The picture is very nice in so many ways.

The hill that this old house sits on was clear cut for the timber this past year. Prior to that, it wasn't visible from the highway. Then one day, there it was and I have been fascinated by it ever since. The first picture is the view from the road and wasn't taken under the best conditions, but it helps give perspective. I finally made it up there yesterday and the view in all directions was awesome. The house, however, has seen better days........

These are great. The top one reminds me of Gone With The Wind!

The warm weather keeps the hummers here year round and lately they've been swarming my feeder. The feeder holds10oz. That normally lasts about a week. For the last few weeks I've had to refill it every other day. These are a few shots taken in different lighting conditions from fading light to bright sunshine to flash. I can't improve without critique, so fire away.

The last one is amazing. Great shots!

This is a simple picture taken with a good old Cannon Powershot SD1000, no editing. I am an amateur photographer who likes the idea of capturing a moment or concept in an image and would enjoy some ideas or criticism to help me get better.

Interesting! Are you related to Salvatore Dali?

I have never seen one, but while out taking pics of hawks and eagles today I saw this white, possibly albino peacock walking beside a back country road. There were a couple ranch houses in the vicinity so I am sure it belongs to one of them. But it was sure strange for me to see it. Sorry the sun is on the wrong side, but when I got out for a better shot it took off into the brush.

I've neven seen on of those, either. Maybe it's an after Christmas omen?

During the first couple of weeks of December (I think) someone posted a series of pictures in which one was a barn in the middle of a rolling wheat field (I think). It was a wonderful shot and I would like to look at that picture again, but can't find it. Does it ring a bell with anyone? Perhaps the person who posted the shot.

Neco

try pm Roadrunner he shoots and posts a lot of barns

Thanks, I'll send an e-mail to him.

Doesn't ring a bell with me. Go up to the top of this page and in the blue print you will find 'SEARCH' type in barn. The pictures that were labeled 'barn' will come up. I would look at the date before I started looking; there's a ton of 'em. Good luck on your search.

I tried that to no avail, but thanks for the suggestion.
